Whose rankings are they?

Exactly where I’m at on this. I edited my other post after you quoted.

JT Miller was drafted as a center. He was a vastly better wing. Like you said tons of players are drafted as centers, but virtue of the best players at their age always playing center. Team Canada approach. Get the 12 best forwards possible and slot them in as applicable. Especially in today’s modern game, things are so fluid and always changing.

I say keep the best players and let it play out from there. Hayes has looked so good I’d hate to trade him for a lottery ticket.
Agree, but 2 things. Not only we will be getting "worse" this season which will "help" mind you......not necessarily tank, but I believe the KEY is, not just the #1 they should get......but its that "extra" good prospect that some team should be coughing up. There will be many suitors for Kevin......we need to "cash in" for a change. And.......
The 2nd thing is.......if the Rangers REALLY WANTED TO, we could re-sign him, presuming acquiring team doesn't do so before he becomes a UFA, which Kevin really should do for his own financial benefit. If Kevin comes back, that would be awesome. I would want him.

Chytil had a year as a Center in the AHL, the primary year of his career so far. I wouldn't call that occasionally...

That is the thing, you are freaking out because you don't see any of our prospects as franchise players, but just a handful of 1st and 2nd overall picks look like a franchise player in their rookie season in the NHL. Sometimes a Barzal, Petterson arise but they are very, very rare.

Chytil played wing for years before being drafted. It's only after the draft when he was shifted to center

Pretty good game. Caps have too much talent for us line for line, and our defense isn't good enough to keep their forwards at bay forever. A level of consistency from shift to shift and game to game is what this team still needs to build
Good to see Strome pot one, he's looked ok so far in his Rangers career.
Unsure why ADA needed to sit this one
This is how I feel. Though I’d substitute “talent” for “experience”. This was a fun back-and-forth game. As with most of these games, it could have gone either way. The rangers are way ahead of schedule and already a handful for any opponent. Whether they put it together right, it’s still up in the air. But so far, so good. Lots of good stuff happening.

Who's freaking out? Kravtsov, Chytil, and Miller had the right sort of thinking behind them. I want Gorton, for the most part, to keep doing what he's doing.

Just, enough goalies already.
Totally agree on the goalie thing. For the life of me, I dont know why we used that "extra pick we got" for a damned goalie in Lindblom. Please somebody tell me there was a specific "reason" as to WHY! Halverson seems a bust, but are they not happy or SURE about Shesty? If thats the case......i still say it was a waste of a pick.......Allaire can make anyone turn it right around, if they had the talent to begin with.
Shouldve used that pick on someone else, and send Halverson to Allaire school of goaltenders.

So was Chytil. So was Scheifele.
Sure, we can use do this all day. Bottom line is Lias hasn't shown much to date. My original point was using LIas as and example of the Rangers draft history.
You use Scheifele, which is a perfect example. An organization overdrafts a guy and makes people revisit what they were thinking. Seem just the opposite with the Rangers.

I thought Strome was very noticeable in this game and had my vote well deserved, but not the greatest game by our youngest prospects this evening, but it`s a learning process.
I think Strome is a nice player. Maybe not a dynamic scorer but he plays pretty stoutly and has more of a scoring touch than most fourth liners. I guess his salary is a bit of a ball-and-chain though.
