I’m not so certain Mercer is all that great TBH. He’s young yet but based on the numbers and what I’ve seen/read, he ain’t all that.
I think he’s having a down year, but the Devils as a whole have been struggling with all the injuries they’ve had. But he seems like a pretty good bet to be at least a real solid 2nd line winger to me.

Ya i'm a big Mercer fan, I'd be all over him.

I think it's less and less likely we move Bo. Which I'm 100% okay with. I think we would regret moving Bo over Girard.

You have to remember playoff play. Girard tends to crumble under the ramped up pressure whereas Bo thrives in it. G is great at using his escapabiltiy but he kind of gets tunnel vision at times when he's under pressure. I've noticed a few times in the offensive zone especially where he makes a great move to evade a defender and opens up space for a teammate, only to not recognize the passing lane and instead shoot the puck into opponent's shin pads.

Crosby can sign an extension on July 1. The Penguins view his extension as the top priority for the organization on and off the ice.

Will the Penguins’ decision regarding Guentzel, either before or after the trade deadline, influence Crosby’s decision to recommit to Pittsburgh?

“No,” Crosby said. “Obviously, it’s a big decision for both sides. That’s something that’s out of my control. But I don’t think that affects how I view things.

“I’m not even thinking about extensions.”

One thing that hasn’t changed: Crosby only wants to play for the Penguins his entire career.

“Yeah,” he said. “I’ve said that forever. But right now I’m trying to focus on getting into the playoffs.”

I'm waiting for someone to post the one or two realistic trades it would take to GUARANTEE a series win over the Jets and/or Stars. And no imaginary nonsense like Crosby retained for RyJo and a pick.

There are no trades that are going to guarantee wins over those teams.

Obviously any trades made give us a better chance than we currently have.

But guaranteed? Not realistic.
