Good deal for the Canucks. They were able to drag it out and coerce a player into re-signing with some threats of Carolina thrown it.

Not apples to apples and he took a discount but there’s no reason Rantanen should make more than petey
He’s accomplished more in the NHL than he has, so yeah he’ll make more

Yeah, Rantanen has done more to this point. The big factor will also be UFA vs RFA quite frankly.

Peteys 8 year deal still bought 1 RFA year. That is essentially what brings him under $12M.

Mikko is gonna be a pure UFA. I'd say this Pete deal only further points to Mikko getting at least ~$12.5M on an 8 year deal.

And how do you think we get Zegras without moving Byram....
Everyone else here seems to think Ritchie is the second coming of McDavid, so maybe they’re interested in a prospect heavy trade. I’d be all for trading Byram for the right guy, I just don’t think the Avs will.

Give me your list then sir!

Haha I’m sorry, I thought that my 13 years of NHL front office experience allowed me to have my own opinion on this sport.

Thank you for proving me otherwise!
Not that I really care but nhl front office people get it wrong more then they do right. And since I don’t have a clue who you are and you haven’t to my knowledge revealed anything. Your opinion sucks just as bad as the rest of us

Hopefully this means Mikko takes less too. This is actually good for us.
This won't affect anything. Mikko has shown in the past he's willing to negotiate for the highest dollar figure possible.

I'll never blame players for wanting to secure as much as they can while they play. Though I also end up not having any sympathy for them whatsoever if they don't win anything and demand better teams. You can make good money and win. Or, you can make max money and probably not win. The choice is yours.

I don't recall that. Which players was he talking about?
I don't exactly remember who or what the situation was, but it was during the lawsuit the ex-players had against the NHL towards concussions. Do you remember that? It happened like 7-11 years ago, and the court released 10 to 20,000 emails to the public records, and Bob was pretty much telling Campbell how to do his job. McKenzie was acting like a straight-up lobbyist.

I don't know about that... are you sure that Connor Bleackley is enough evidence to Michell Heard that information?
