I think it tells us Cliffton is gone and they would like to try and upgrade on Forbot and even Gryzz. If these rumors are true, Sweeney is being smart to try this while the team is strong-this year.Im not trying to advocate for Chychrun specifically, just trying to understand how going for a LD with term makes sense when they have so many LD already. I do think it’s hard to judge defensive play when you are on a team like AZ, though.

The term “5 on 5 specialist” is objectively one of the funniest things I’ve seen on this forum.Gryz is a 5 on 5 specialist (with question marks even if you are a fan) and Forbort is a PK specialist. They combine for 6.7 in cap. If you can get someone that can do both for 4.5 it’s something to ponder. But someone like that usually doesn’t cost 4.5. Which is what makes Chychrun so interesting even if he might be a downgrade in some aspects (but an upgrade in others like actually being able to shoot the puck).
"This guy is only useful if the team is short-handed and this guy is only useful for 90% of the game"The term “5 on 5 specialist” is objectively one of the funniest things I’ve seen on this forum.
So what you’re saying is he specializes at the majority of the way the game is played.
Sounds like a steal at that number
As the biggest Grizz defender on this board I don’t even know what to say to that lol"This guy is only useful if the team is short-handed and this guy is only useful for 90% of the game"
Sorry not trying to take shots at the OP, just a funny thing to see.
IMO he's still on the table until such time Islanders sign him before March 3 and the Islanders have secured a playoff spot...Horvat was my ideal pickup since we have no good C prospects once Berg and DK retire. Now that he is off the table I say hold firm and don't move anyone. Don't forget DK and Bergeron have bonuses that if we don't have the cap room this year they get moved to next years cap number. Not to mention Zacha and (hopefully) pasta getting a raise. We will have to offload quite a bit of cap this offseason.
I suggested Matt Roy from the Kings (who is said to be available) yesterday, but no one here seems interested.I see a lot of people want to target forwards, I’d rather them aim for another steady top-4 defenseman if they’re going to be giving up valuable assets. Don’t know who’s available, but they’re one Lindholm/McAvoy injury away from being in big trouble come playoff time.
Unfortunately that's exactly what's going to happen. I would be disappointed. But get why he would be okay fit.Get Acciari I’m good

Why would the Kings be interested in trading him?I suggested Matt Roy from the Kings (who is said to be available) yesterday, but no one here seems interested.
Hey great idea...what are his face-off stats like? This entire series of threads

I read a few articles in the past two days saying that they have a surplus of RD coming up next season and that they are looking to bolster other areas. Their third pair RD, Sean Walker is also mentioned as a trade possibility, but I would definitely prefer Roy.Why would the Kings be interested in trading him?

kings are very heavy with RHD. roy is a guy they'd trade to open space for a LHD. they'd rather trade sean walker, butWhy would the Kings be interested in trading him?
Donny follows me so I feel a responsibility to not screw around as much here and take my duties as a consultant seriousUnfortunately that's exactly what's going to happen. I would be disappointed. But get why he would be okay fit.
Gudas would be a good add but they needed to beat them in regulation Saturday and not give Florida any confidence4th line upgrade over Nosek will be ideal for me.
Depth #6-7 d-man with some size and who's remotely mean.
Are face off stats not important ?Why would the Kings be interested in trading him?

WrongGarikov as an upgrade for Gryz or Clifton but no way is he an upgrade for Carlo
That was in reference to the the Bowling Dude picture Flannelman posted...Trying to be funny. Are face off stats not important ?
There are off-season cap tagging issues with that. But most don’t seem to care about cap next year so dream big I guess.Maybe trade for Meier could be a good idea for a playoff stretch than trade him at the off season cause Bs cannot signed him ni cap space...
