But all I heard around here was he had no system.

Lmao now he knows coaching. I'm not saying you said it GKJ but you know how it is around here.

Laviolette was and still is an excellent coach. But good coaches don't last forever. At a point, a coach's message starts to lose meaning.

I liked Lavy but his act had become stale.

He lost the team and once that happened theres not much else to do but ship him out.

the real problem is Berube is just Lavi-lite..

so things havent really changed since Lavi' style...Berube is basicly the same godam guy...

i wanted real change.. cough Torts cough...

You know out of the playoffs is a huge range in quality encompassing half the league from bubble teams to pathetic basement dwellars...right? We're 26th right now and trending downward and that's without factoring in the results of tonight's games.

I don't care where we are at. This team will not make the playoffs that's the point. They need a new influx of talent and a new identity(what ever coach can bring that).

Laviolette has had several teams despite having quality seasons from his teams because he's a coach with a short shelf-life. People know that and it's very well-established. He's a good coach that can bring a great team over the top but he typically wears off pretty quickly.

hey, if they're going to miss the playoffs, miss big. i hope hexy does nothing to improve the roster this season

I personally agree with you....but I hate losing.

If we are waiting for the kids on D anyways, we should be making moves off young players/prospects that will be making an impact in 2-3 years.

Trade Coburn now while he has good value.

Anaheim fans were fine with Etem/Theodore/Palmeiri +1st for Coburn. That is the type of deal we should be looking for. A young prospect and a pick.

Maybe we can sucker Edmonton into a deal for him too.

He's been poor all year as has Read but they both have earned their keep for the last 3 years of play. Its called a slump for someone that claims he knows so much about hockey you should know what those are. Simmonds is going through the same thing right now. eventually they'll breakout and then they will be underrated again lol

Slump? I'm sorry but Couts has looked like the same player since his rookie season. A beast defensively , below average skater, and flashes every now and then offensively. It is what it is.

So position in the league doesn't matter to you, all 14 non playoff teams are the same for all intents and purposes while all 16 playoff teams are the same for all intents and purposes. No room for elaboration beyond the black-and-white of playoffs or no playoffs.

Everyone knows we need an influx of new players, it's why the roster sucks beyond a few players and why we're 26th in the league even if that number doesn't mean anything to you. I also like that you've been defending Berube but then suggest a coach is responsible for team identity (solely a coach) then say we need a new identity and then proceed to not expand on that any nor give any suggestions whatsoever.

Couturier and Read have definitely not carried their weight offensively this year. And Simmonds is back to being a PP specialist after a hot first 2 games. They are all tradeable IMO.

Couturiers hands are too slow. Laughton looks like he has more upside as a top 6 player.

At Simmonds contract you keep him even if he is a specialist. He produces at a bargin. You don't trade Couts unless you can replace(Laughton) him and the package is good. Read should be trade bait.

Jake about to go back to back with no points and only 3 in his last 5 if he gets none tonight.

Trying the reverse jinx.
