Rumor: 2026 Trade Rumors and Free Agency: Offseason Edition

I said we needed to move all 3 guys not just for cap space but also to avoid negative vibes.

- Teammates were sick of Nichushkin. MacKinnon has outright refused to play with him. Zero forgiveness for screwing up back-to-back playoff runs. One screw up(2023 playoffs), fine. Second screw up(2024 in season)… eh, maybe. Third screw up(2024 playoffs)… dead to those guys.

- Colton hasn’t been happy with his role for a long time. Bednar and him never saw eye to eye.

- Drury wanted more money and a bigger role than Bednar felt he was worth. Some people said to take him to arbitration for a 1 year. Yeah, great way to get a motivated player.

We needed to move these 3 guys for a variety of reasons.

Good vibes only. People fully invested in the team with the respect of their teammates and coaching staff.

Let’s go.

Question now is… is it a Kulak re-signing or a trade for that top 4 LHD?

Or both?

Roughly 13m in cap space to fill in the blank (includes 2.3m cap overage carried over form last year and 25k for burying Svechkov).

Why lmao? So that we can replace them with even more expensive players?

Roy isn’t a good fit in terms of attributes versus what Bednar is looking for. Our team looks the most effective with speedy players that hound pucks, Roy is the exact opposite of that.

Lehkonen is great and should only be moved for an overpay, but he’s slowing down which makes his forechecking less effective. He’s Also often injured and on the wrong side of 30. He’s a player that could fall off quickly imo

What in the world makes you think we will be burying Svechkov?

Where’s L’Heureux?

Neither guy would clear waivers.

Kadri is NOT a winger.

Brindley, Hughes, Ivan will come into camp competing for spots up front.

Please dont put Kadri at wing. It doesnt work. It wont work. That mans a C.

The Avs traded a #13 to open up space for an even better #13. Trust Joe

Clearly the next move is gonna be a LHD. Whether thats Kulak or a trade. Even with thrse forward moves, we still have a full lineup for next year and quite frankly a good one for October month.

Lehky - Mack - Necas
Landy - Nelson - Kadri
Brindley - Roy - Kelly
LOC - Svechkov - L'Heuruex
Hughes

All 4 of Brindley, Hughes, Svech, and L'Heur will get a chance to prove theyre legit Top 9 or even Top 6 players... And if they dont prove it, they'll make an upgrade or 2 at the deadline again.

Cause Bednar doesn't like players like Svechkov, L'Heuruex. They'll both get the Brindley/Bardakov treatment at best.

Kadri may not be a winger, but there's no other alternative at top6.

Brindley, Hughes, Ivan can compete all they want, but we all know they'll get 5-6 mins/game on the 4th line.
