Rumor: 2026 Trade Rumors and Free Agency: Offseason Edition

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

And the Sharks 9th. Byram had way more value around the league than we all thought.
At the time of the trade, had Cmac traded Byram for DRAFT PICKS (even super high ones) he would have been completely ridiculed on this very board with our need for a #2C.

Buffalo did a good job to bring him along over the years and then find a massive schmuck to maximize his value.

Good for Buffalo for getting that done - meanwhile they've been doing that stuff, we've been trying to win in the playoffs. You usually can't have it both ways.

Reactions: Colorado Avalanche

That's a lot to give up for overpriced, 4 years of control.

If he's getting $13M, then Makar should get $20M

Holy shit. If you are giving that kind of money, you better get max term. Otherwise, you force Byram to come down on AAV in exchange for less term.

I like Byram a lot, too, but that would be insanity.

We are locked in with Bednar. Whatever we end up doing, we need to inject speed in the lineup. Landeskog, Roy, aging Kadri and Nelson do not instill much confidence. If you're going to be that insistent with Bednar again, you better get some damn good skaters in the lineup.
