Sadly the past is the past. These young kids are about opportunity(not a Bruin strongpoint) and then dollars( young kids nope but if you are in the edge of going over the hill then they will overpay) 14k at TD for an original six means nothing. Don’t get me wrong it is a great sound bite but that piece of the asset puzzle left the yard years ago.

The original six thing came from when I listed like 5 things in the bruins favor as a destination for free agents.

Then the Sweeney bots came out crying picking it apart saying there’s no advantage of being in Boston as a cop out for Sweeneys lack of playoff success.

By no means did I say original six in itself was a draw, but it’s one of many parts that are a draw here

Yes we’ve seen a handful of players already this offseason request trades and give their destinations.

Most notably Dylan Larkin. The team president said they are looking for a #1 center in May and we didn’t make his list. So Larkin clearly doesn’t view this team as a contender.

Also I’ve been talking both free agency and trade the whole time. Hence why I’ve been adding the Hampus Lindholm trade to my discussions

Sweeneys biggest moves aren’t even close to the level of Chiarelli

1. Elias Lindholm
2. Hampus Lindholm
3. Taylor hall

Compared to

1. Chara
2. Savard
3. Iginla

Not even close
Dylan Larkin didn’t have the Stars or the Avs on his list, so clearly he didn’t see them as contenders.

Maybe not, but both those teams are in rough cap situations(unless Dallas moves on from Robertson). He knew those weren’t options

Bruins have plenty of cap space and a need for a #1 center and Larkin still passed.

Why do people include two third round pick like Zellers and Simpson in all their "future" lineups? Only about 10% of third round picks play 200 NHL games historically.

I mean Zellers just had a strong freshman season at UND finished 4th in points for them. He also led the WJC team in points and goals, while winning a gold medal.

Simpson was 1st on his USHL team in goals, assist and points while also finished 2nd in the USHL overall in points.

Both guys had solid seasons so naturally there is a bit more hype around them

I would be very careful including these guys in any trades

Yep, Zellers has game!

There would need to be something very nice added to that pick, DP is an awesome player and team guy
I wanna sell him like carlo look how that turned out. Always sell high but if your keeping him then keep his buddy zacha here too and add a tuch and andersson and let's go! No way Donny can burn another year on a 30 year old pasta . Now or never I say.

Sure, and wouldn’t you think Florida replaces them? So now who does Toronto replace?

If you think Toronto makes it, it’s pretty much assured that you have to think the Bruins don’t.
Ahh right. I didn’t put much thought into it before I went back to work.. hmm does TB start slipping soon ? Idk Hedman situation is he definitely back.
Certainly gonna be another tight race maybe comes down to injuries again.
