Holy shit it's worse than I thought lmao they just gave 4.25M to a 4th liner
A winger, too. I was expecting that though.Holy shit it's worse than I thought lmao they just gave 4.25M to a 4th liner

Bednar was/is too concerned with winning every single regular season game that he is unwilling to let a goalie work out his issues and find some consistency.
Wedgewood was great all regular season, no doubt about it. However, I said for months and months that we would never win a Stanley Cup with Wedgewood as the starter. I got hammered for that by @shadow1 and others showing me stats why Wedgewood has been the best goalie since prime Hasek.
We needed to give Blackwood a month of starts to work out his issues. The best version of Blackwood is far better than the best version of Wedgewood. Our coach was never willing to do that; winning every game and winning the President’s Trophy is what mattered to him.
Thing is, it's all we can cling to. There is no realistic path to get a better goalie. We need to make do with what we have. And arguably, we didn't get the best out of our duo last year, despite winning the Jennings.Time has proven you were right about Wedgewood. But I'm also not convinced Blackwood's issues were load management related. His first 15 games were amazing (13-1-1, .924), and then he suffered his second lower body injury of the season and missed the first half of January. It was all downhill from there (10-9-1, .899). We desperately need Blackwood to have a healthy offseason.

The difference here is Drury has had multiple seasons playing the same way.Is Greer truly that worse than Drury and Dickinwife?
What makes his contract any more terrible.
Very different types of players so hard to evaluate against each other.
I think it was an ea NHL joke that was missed here ....lolI don't really think GMs do this to one another.
I mean, look at how f***ing cutthroat Vegas is. Teams are still happily making deals with them.
He was also good for the Panthers in the playoffs IIRC. Not scoring goals but impactful. The difference here is Drury has had multiple seasons playing the same way.
Greer has had 1 season that sticks out. Nearly double what he’s ever done in points.
Does he continue to be a 30 point player or revert back to a 15 point player?
Verbeek wants to build a team that’s a pain in the ass to play against. That much is clear.Ducks don't care. They have a shit load of cap space, and with no big UFAs available. There's not much to do.
They just went through a playoff series with Vegas and saw what having guys like Kolezar and McNabb, just hitting people every shift, can do.Verbeek wants to build a team that’s a pain in the ass to play against. That much is clear.
