Speculation: 2026-27 Trade/FA thread/Roster Thread - Waiting for the SCF to be over….

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

Turned down 8x15 from Seattle. So much for the unfair tax advantage.

@Static stance is probably more accurate than mine is, but isn't Washington introducing an income tax relatively soon?

EDIT: yes. From Ernst and Young.

Beginning January 1, 2028, Washington will impose a 9.90% individual income tax on Washington taxable income, with a $1 million standard deduction per individual (or per household), effectively limiting the tax to higher-income taxpayers

Like i said earlier.... i feel like McTavish would fit in nicely with the forwards the blues have. Makes complete sense to me.

Not to be that guy, but i called that earlier today... just makes sense if they are keeping parayko.

They have 11 15th and 16th picks.... which is prob pretty close to McTavish value....

They also have Jiricek/Carboneau.... Jiricek is a RHD with upside.... Carboneau is prob a forward we know a lot about... he fits our general QMJHL bigger forward obsession.
One would have to assume that Verbleak wants a top 4 RD back in any trade for McTavish. I don't see how St Louis can accommodate that if Parayko is off the table.

The point is Seattle has been a no tax team and unable to attract any star players because they suck. That's the key factor. If you're a contender it helps. If you aren't it means nothing.

For sure. I don't know if I said this earlier in the thread or not, but if I didn't, for the people who are concerned about the fact that the US olympians all appear to be choosing the same 3-4 teams, keep in mind that about 4-5 years ago, there was a period where seemingly everyone wanted to go play in New Jersey. Things move quick in the league.

+1000 the beeker is building a dynasty in anaheim! Don’t let @tomd fool you!

I wonder if Madden thinks Laf will improve with a change of scenery, 57 points on a bad NYR team is pretty good production. Put him next to Carlsson, move Cutter to 2C.
