Moore is a great trade chip. Hes going to be a NHLer and had a high pedigree but he doesnt scare to trade away because theres something missing that would make him into a star.

Schaefer is phenomenal. You have the chance to take him you run to the podium and figure out the rest later.
This 100%. Schaefer and Hagens should be 1 and 2 this year unless something crazy happens. Hawks still lack a true #1 and power play defenseman. Hagens also looks like a legit top line CENTER (very good defensively). If anything, we can trade Nazar/Moore or Korchinski/Rinzel for other needs.

Oliver Moore is allergic to the scoreboard. Don't think of him as an offensive minded top 6 forward.

Moore is skating on the 3rd line. He isn't getting top 6 time. Plus he also won 11 of 15 faceoffs (73%) which was by far the best on the team in game 1. This is coming from someone who wasn't a big Moore guy in the draft either but those questioning why he didn't register a point when he is being asked more to shutdown and be a PK guy isn't fair.

Moore was doing good net battling in front on the goal where Hutson was dekeing around and it got send cross ice and tipped in by Ziemer. Was key there.

But also seeing some Carey Terrance plays with great speed and playmaking, makes me think he was what I would of expected out of Moore.

Are the people shitting on Moore just looking at the boxscore and judging him based on that alone?
Yeah he projected as a high end 3c/good 2c if his O game comes together and he seems to be right on pace with that.

He's a very different player but he could have a similar impact of a Dave Bolland. A guy you give all the absolute shit assignments and he always comes out smelling like roses, and chips in some offense to boot.

I know we're all eager to get a star to put alongside Bedard, but Moore could end up playing just as important a role on a winning team.

Moore still a solid prospect who certainly seems to have a game that will translate well to the pros. His lack of goal scoring across the board dating back to juniors is a bit of a red flag to me, considering his shot, quick hands and obviously breakaway speed. I could see his lack of IQ keeping him out of the league like Athanasiou/Stalberg

Still a little concerning that the Hawks were trying to trade up to get him and probably would've drafted him top 10, but you can't get them all right.

Bolland is a good compareable....the other is Ryan Kessler (121 pts in 151 NDTP games and 31 pts in 40 college games) as opposed to Moore going 172 pts in 170 NDTP games and 50 pts in 59 college games. Moore has every chance of blossoming into a great PK middle 6 C that gives you some complementarty offense in the 50ish point a year range if the O develops as hoped/projected.

Don't stand for the Hawks. Stand for Kyle Beech.

Moore is going to lead an elite third line boys
Most likely, yes.

Moore doesn’t have much of an NHL shot and isn’t a natural goal scorer, but he will put the fear of god into people on the PK and create space for his line mates with his speed.

Yeah basically, he was buzzing around there and had a good game, just no points. I bet if he had like a 2nd assist amongst all the scoring people wouldn't be so complain-y right now. Everyone is getting a little antsy about a 2nd marquee scoring forward, which is why there's all this stuff about like Gabe Perreault, Andrew Cristall or whatever, truth be told you're unlikely to find that guy with an 18th overall pick. Not that it's impossible, just rare.

I had to double check that Moore wasn't at like under half PPG in college or something. Understand we're all hungry for production, hopefully he can get to over that PPG mark in college by the end of the year. He does a lot of things well that can help a team if he hits on his projections.

I really like Moore , I just dont feel he has the offensive chops of his (draft time comparable) Dylan Larkin . That being said , nothing wrong with a super speedy / great defensive 40 to 50 point C/LW.

He’s going to be a good player. They tried to trade up for him and couldn’t believe he fell. They thought he was more than a 3C. I don’t see it. Doesn’t mean he won’t be an important piece on a winning team.

I think something around 20 if they end up top a high end 3rd line C, PK, play D and put up 40-45 pts that is a really good player. was the pick a home run? probably not but my guess is his career ends him at about the 20th best player from that draft

Bolland is a good compareable...

Bollland played with an edge that Moore doesn't have so I don't see it. I'd love it if Moore had a screw loose but that ain't him. And ya just can't teach that either.
I had Moore pegged as a Phil Danault type so elite third liner and capable second on a mediocre team sounds about right

NHL teams don't draft defensive centers at 19th overall.

We drafted Danault in the first round once before

NHL teams draft busts in the first round all the time too
