Or just keep the smaller players because they’re all more talented than any big plugs you’ll trade them for.

Anyone speaking of trading young talent at this point is beyond sense.
Really? Beyond sense?

You have people on this board trying to say you can’t draft certain skilled players because they’re too small.

I’m not advocating to trade Nazar for no reason you genius, I’m saying you don’t let his presence prevent you from taking a guy like Hagens.

Why try to turn my comment into something it’s not?

I’ve said Moore wasn’t my pick plenty of times but based on what I’ve seen so far this year and last, he should go back for another year.
I don’t think leaving at the end of this year would hurt him. The concern here is the end product with the 200 foot game and details already quite advanced. I’d probably rather have him in Rockford and start learning how to create at the pro level. I don’t think he’ll ever be a guy that scores a ton in college/junior

I think if he leaves this year and goes to Rockford I just think you're pigeon holing him pretty bad into a checking 30 point guy. Might be him anyway, but.

Martone has whiffed on a couple of great chances...

I want Moore under professional supervision and hope he's in Rockford with the rest of the graduates.

Feels to me like he’s going to be a better pro than college player. Much more structure in the pro game and he thrives off breaking that structure with his speed/motor. Not as strong manipulating breaks in structure as say, Perreault. I don’t think bringing him into pro hockey pigeon holes him into anything. There’s a median outcome of a 40-50 point middle 6 guy in there somewhere

He meant Bedard’s first WJC
You sure? McKenna is a late birthday so the equivalent year for Bedard is his draft year where he had 23 points

Wish we had Catton, still.
I would’ve loved that. Shame he’s not 2 inches taller and 15 pounds heavier otherwise he’d have been the slam dunk pick. Wild that semantics like that drive perception so much

Was my guy all year long last year. Love his game. Been great this year and tonight.

Schaefer is so so good...both creating offensive chances and driving attack AND defensiveky cutting off attacks in neutral zone and turning back into attack transition..He is special...woukd easily be Hawks best dman. A 1D you want to build a Cup team aroubd.

The score in this game flatters Finland .. Canafa thru 2 periods probably has 15 high danger grade A scoring chances.. Finland maybe 2 or 3 only of these golden could should been goals..

But Schaefer at 17 years old still is just reeking of the best playervon thevice doing everything so well..He controls shifts.

To me he is the clear #1BPA for the 2025 draft .

McKenna will be #1,in 2026 drFt..His hands and puck control are Kane-like...but he is much better defensively than Kane ever was.

If the Hawks get the #1 this draft..cannot pass on a talent like Schaefer.

Remember that Michael Misa is not onthis Canada Jr team..but I think forcthe Hawks needs if they get the #2 or #3 and Misa is still there I think they gotta take him...better skatercthan Hagens..faster..and bigger and better2 way player and better on draws.

Hagens is better getting open without the puck in space and finishing ..but he needs good linemates to feed him when open or for him to feed them back..I am not certain he would bexprolific with just average linemates...whereas I think Misa can both solo hero and elevate average linemates. And Hagens is axnurf...Misa has some level of size at 6'1,185..So I would take him for the Hawks' purposes ahead of Hagens.

Unfortunately Misa not on this Canada team so we cannot see what he could do at this level of world Juniors competition..

I ended up with him, Buium, and Iginla as my favorites behind Celebrini. Just a bad year to pick at 2

Man what a high level play by Schaefer on the empty netter. This is a two horse race and he’s leading it right now

I want to ask why Canada coach Dave Cameron dod not use Schaefer on the 4x6 when Canada on pk and Finland pulled their goalie with over 3munutes + remaining ...Canada hemmed in own zone for over full 2 minutes(some faceoffs after George stopped a shot and held on...so they could have put Schaefer on ...but he only came on AFTER those frantic pk minutes expired and it was back to 5x6 with Finland still having an empty net ...of course Schaefer gets to loose puck andcfirescitvnearly 200feet directly into the gaping net ...I assure you if that chance came for$9.5 ,Seth would:

a) never get to a loose puck
b) but if he did :
i) his attempt woukd be intercepted and
and kept in...OR
ii) if not intercepted ,the long shot would miss
that open net by 10+ feet..

Schaefer is thus the anti-$9.5 ...you know...excellent vs. oh no!

I was admittedly a big Moore guy. I still like him but I see his ceiling as a good 3C. Don’t think he’ll ever be a true top 6 play driver like I hoped.

I’m on the trade Moore for the right player train. Every time I watch him, it seems like he’s so disengaged from the play. It’s not an effort thing. I think it’s low IQ. All the speed in the world and no idea what to do with it.

I think the saving grace with that pick is that they didn't trade up. I wouldn't even say a ton of the guys after him or in that area have been overwhelmingly good either. Probably just Perreault and Nadeau as being better so far. I liked Perreault and its who I wanted but other than him continuing to be a great scorer its still remains to be seen if he'll do that at the next level. I like him more than Moore though.

I’m not ready to scroll up yet. Watching now and drinking/eating myself to an extent to an early death.

I am embarrassed by Zeev Buium. Not something I will soon forget. Maybe because it’s my first impression, but wow what a move looking to the sky like that. I know he is just a kid, I hope someone talks to him. Don’t need embellishment like that in the sport.

Brady Tkchuk was annoying as hell. I couldn’t even focus on the game. It was like having an annoying friend talking to you when you are trying to focus on something else. I had to fast forward much of that.

Moore had a good shot short handed. Man can he fly. Another good rush with a dish to eiserman. Solid 2nd period. A third chance. Damn, he’s got everything but the ability to finish today.

3rd period Buium beat badly for a goal right in front of the net. Bad day so far for that kid. Moore of the same for more. Wish he had better hands. He would be the best prospect we have.

Damn man, what’s with these Hutsons? Pretty great shit from them right now.
