I would not have my hopes up. He already rejected a move to pool and could very well happen the same with Arsenal. Don't see the fit either since Rice plays in his position.

On the bright side Merino and Arteta there could help the deal.

But still, could see him very much in FCB or Madrid next summer (though the emergence of Casado might make us out of the run for him)

There’s absolutely no need for Barca to purchase any midfielder for some time.

Manchester United is the Barca of the EPL.

And Arsenal are the Atletico Madrid of the Premiership.

Donyell Malen from Dortmund to Aston Villa for 23 M, suprisingly low fee.

I don’t think so considering his playing time this season and possibly his contract situation. That said he was quite good for Dortmund for two seasons in a somewhat rotational role.

Agreed. And something I saw last Summer said he’d only move for Madrid or Barca. Still wouldn’t be shocked if he moved this Summer as a lot can change in a year.

@Evilo
Should I get excited for Kolo Muani?
Depends which version you get.
The pre PSG version is very exciting. Strong IQ, quick, powerful, team player, leads by example, constant fire to progress and win.
Clumsy, and extremely bad when lacking confidence.
He didn't fit Enrique's team because he's not the greatest technically.
It was a bit rough for him because he really never had a chance to prove himself.
He was bought to keep Mbappe happy but I think Enrique wanted neither.

There have been a lot of rumours about Partey leaving (Merino replaces him more likely) and Zubimendi probably take his spot in the starting XI or at least replace Jorginho who has also been severely rumoured to leave.

Yeah, my thought line when I heard about it was:
- "Is midfield really a place of need right now?"
- "Dude, we regularly start Jorginho."

My issue with it is that zubi, rice and Merino are all defensive and all should warrant a starting spot. The depth needed is support for Ode and a starting striker. I wouldn’t be made if I’m Arsenal at this purchase in a vacuum because zubi is very good and will help the team. However if they closed the summer window and that’s their only purchase I’d be pissed.

Well, definitely, I agree. It's a weird deal all around, but if you can get Zubi for just a release clause, I certainly can't complain, and that seems to be a big part of it (if it is indeed actually happening), Arteta and Merino getting his ear and on board with the project. Getting it done ahead of time could leave room for devoting time to other deals when the summer window actually comes along, but I'd hate to have those be funds we're left lacking for getting much needed attacking power.
