2025 Trade Deadline

I said a couple of days ago, I think Fitz doesn’t know what he’s doing and the few wins he’s amassed are broken clock scenarios.

I was already just about to turn on him after the whole Lindy debacle and Holtz public trashing presser last year, this is pretty much sealing the deal.

Embarrassing is the main word that that keeps repeating in my head.
This is a dumb statement considering he basically revamped the defense and got the best goalie we've had since prime Schneider this summer. Yes, he should have done a better job with the forwards, but acting like he's this bumbling fool that doesn't have any clue what he's doing is a bit much.

He also added probably the best net front PP guy in the league this season. Not a very good deadline, but he’s done an okay job as GM.

Perhaps we should give it another year or so before anointing his defense revamp a success. They are better defensively no doubt but they also are below average in transition on a team that isn’t scoring enough. He handed out a big contract to Pesce and Dillon and now Kova. He may very well be aiming to jettison Nemec or Casey, and his recent track record doesn’t exactly suggest we can trust that what he gets in return will make the team better overall. He also now has a track record of fixing one hole while allowing another to materialize. Even the goalie situation is certainly no sure fire thing after this season.

He’s not a great general just because it looks like he won one battle while still losing the war.

I'm still shocked the team didn't raise season ticket prices. Only way this shit storm of a season could have been possibly worse.

Or he got a look at the price for centers and decided it’s not worth it to pay the premium on trade deadline day and decided to punt until the off-season.

Let’s not pretend that prior to Jacks injury we had the cap space to really add someone significant up front. Then Jack goes down and the evaluation changes to “well I have the cap now but what are we realistically going to do without our best player?”

This whole “we should have added to boost the guys in the room” mantra is misplaced. The players have not shown themselves they are worth that investment, even when they were fully healthy. They wilt under pressure, give up back breaking late goals, can’t finish, and have no killer instinct. Was ROR gonna fix that?
