I would love to know Fitz response to this question. Seems like he doesn't have much faith in his scouts ability to identify and develop players.

Gritsyuk and Hameenaho have to hit and become NJ regulars. Gritsyuk as soon as next season. We need him.

I said a couple of days ago, I think Fitz doesn’t know what he’s doing and the few wins he’s amassed are broken clock scenarios.

I was already just about to turn on him after the whole Lindy debacle and Holtz public trashing presser last year, this is pretty much sealing the deal.

Embarrassing is the main word that that keeps repeating in my head.

There are only 8 drafted players on this entire roster. 4 are Fitz's(Luke, Mercer, Casey and Nemec)and 4 are Shero's (Jack, Nico, Bratt and Bastian)

Our drafting hasn't been great in general for how shitty we've been and all the high picks we had.

I am not on board with firing Fitz. I am fine with firing Paul Castron and Mark Dennehy.

Castron was one of Shero's first hires and he hasn't made a good pick outside the top-100 since Gritsyuk, who hasn't played an NHL game. Before that you'd have to go back to Sharnagovich. If it wasn't for Jesper Bratt he probably would have been gone a while ago.

Dennehy was made Chief Scout in August 2021 and that lines up well with the shift in draft philosophy we've seen recently.

Poor drafting is directly responsible for the mess of depth we are experiencing right now. It happened in the late Lou era and it's happening now.

It wasn’t a nothing burger, it was a negative burger. For the reasons you state at the end. He spent assets for no reason whatsoever. Literally like throwing cash in the fireplace. There’s a reason people were thinking something big might be coming after the Dumo trade, because that would the logical conclusion.

Not even close. It demoralizes the team, the important players on it, that could use help and have needed it for months. It was a stupid decision and for some reason people are eating it up.

You wanted to buy? Outbid the prices on some of the big names that other teams traded for?
