I'm probably overrating Stankoven, and assuming Carolina will use those picks in the summer at the latest to land something else on a trade.

I guess in retrospect yeah, it's poor considering we traded Rantanen as a pending UFA and they are trading him extended for 8 years.

If Stars are getting the Avs Mikko, I’d be worried, if they are getting the Canes and 4 nations Mikko, I’m not worried. Again, Canes didn’t have MacK, neither do Stars and it’s obvious Mikko is not the same player without MacK. We’ll see what he does with Dallas

Stankoven is an elite young prospect to be fair. I don't mind that return for Carolina, but they absolutely screwed themselves when the initial Necas trade was made. How do you not assure that you can re-sign him before making that trade?

If it really was 12x8 Rantanen would still be an AV. 11,75 x 8 was CMacs offer, if i remember correctly.

It was, in the end, about money. And thats ok, its his right.

But 12x8 in Texas is approx. 12.9x8 in Colorado to match it.....

I am only suprised he didnt walk to UFA. He would have gotten noth of 13, even 14.....
