I don't doubt Kyper here, because he was the first to break the eventual Rantanen signing as well. He has a source in the Rantanen camp. But what would've this meant for Mitch Marner? And what does his 12x8 deal in Dallas mean for Marner?

But seriously, what a huge miss on our offseason signings...as I said in another thread, some exceptionally worrying signs about our pro-scouting staff / evaluation system. These three misses; the mediocrity of Wood and Colton; the Mittelstadt disaster. It's not good. At least CMac has the gumption to not double down and stick with these messes, but it's costing us far too many assets.

But, I have to be consistent. I have called that Avs team the best team in the salary cap era. They had one of the most dominant cup runs in the cap era, with one of the worst cup winning goaltending since like 1991? It's a pretty f***ing high bar to clear. Cups have been won with worse teams.

I feel pretty good because of goaltending alone.

CMac was just on NHL network, he said everything is going well with Landy, although still no timeline. At this point they’re just screwing with us and playing with our emotions. I really wouldn’t be surprised if Landy came back in the playoffs. Specially seeing this new roster and EJ being back too

I do not agree that we got a top 4 Dman. Lindgren isn't that guy anymore. He's seems to be a better bottom pairing guy, but we did not get the D man we needed.

We can see if we can pry Andersson out of Calgary in the offseason. CBJ decided to keep Provorov. I think they wanted Jones, Provorov, or Lindgren. Lindgren isn't a bad 3rd option at all with us getting snubbed on the other two.

I'm also out on Cowan after watching him at the WJC. The smallest of sample sizes and possibly irrational but I absolutely hated what I saw from that dude, whose also like 5'10".

Colton, Wood, Ryjo, Mitts + almost all the low end guys like CDH....the pro scouts post cup haven't been good. They can't even get credit for Drouin they have nothing to do with it.
