Good for our boy Hage, not so good for the CHL.

I remember reading an anonymous QMJHL GM talking about the potential of losing top prospects to the NCAA. He specifically used Desnoyers as an example. I wonder if there is a kernel of truth to it... 🤔
Naturally, there is also worry around the CHL about the growing sway of NIL money in college athletics.

“(Top 2024 prospect) Caleb Desnoyers who once he gets drafted, I don’t know, eighth overall, we don’t want to lose him to BU that makes him a $100,000 offer because they’re allowed to give NIL money,” said one QMJHL general manager.

Yeah, Desnoyers/Misa/McKenna/Spence seem like likely candidates. No reason not to. Better competition, more time in the gym, better facilities, more pro style game, better pay.

Also 2024 picks that need an extra year in the gym to fill out like Catton/Sennecke/Parekh.

I respect your opinion but I disagree

Hagens can control the game in a way that Misa can’t in my perspective

Misa have unreal talent. After the draft 2023, they all said Misa potentially 1st overall pick in 2025.

I like Hagens, but Misa have much more to offer in his general game than Hagens.

Misa would be a perfect center for Demidov as a more shoot first guy down the middle.

Hagens would almost assuredly need to be paired with Caufield giving Demidov to Suzuki.
We could roll something like that with Hagens:

Slaf Hagens Demidov

Dach Suzuki Caufield

We would have even more options if Laine succeed in MTL and re-sign on a reasonable deal.

Either ways, I like both Hagens and Misa, they would improve the center line tremendously.

Hagens is more Jack Hughes while Misa more Jonathan Toews, I think its close personally.

Misa is a two way beast? Honest question here, I always viewed him as a pure sniper, from what I read (which is not much).

Close, yes.

But Misa have more offensive talent than Toews. He is going to score more. Hagens isn't going to have same impact of Hughes, but a 1st line talent, yes.

Misa have juste in him something very special. Soo yeah it's close, but to me I would prefer to have Misa than Hagens for Habs !

Hard to say with Hagens. Hagens was phenomenal at the U18s, but quite garden variety to start the season. He looked better recently, but I still haven't seen the same player that I saw in April. If he turns on the jets then yes I'd agree he'd be our best player.

CHL from 16 to 18 and then NCAA the rest of the way could become the route for a lot of top prospects.
Sucks for the CHL but good for the players, I could see a lot of undrafted 20 year old guys who would have had to go the CIS route get a nice free 4 years of college in the NCAA
