Drafting Desnoyers and Carbonneau would also shut some media mouth for a couple of years

Agree, he’s my biggest disappointment in the who Q
Draft BPA

Who cares what media thinks

I hope this org learned that lesson from Louis Leblanc, I remember attending that draft and praying for Kreider while the crowd was completely lost and shouting for Louis

I wasn't at the draft but I was saying.. Kreider or Josefson, Kreider or Josefson, under my breath.

Josefson would've been as effective as Leblanc, so I'm not patting myself on the back there.. but I never liked Leblanc.

Of course

But they are good chances they are actually the BPA when we pick

I'm still hoping for Hagens/Misa although I wouldn't complain at all about Martone or Schaefer.

We still desperately need another high end center, ideally someone that will be able to challenge Suzuki for the #1 spot. If we address our 2C concern through a trade it's likely going to be a guy with a 2C ceiling, but with Misa/Hagens we'd have that chance of them overtaking Suzuki which would mean we're a much more competitive team.

With Martone our winger situation would be fantastic, but even a line of Demidov-Dach/Dvo-Martone would probably be very underwhelming due to the lack of offense all of our centers (excluding Suzuki) bring.

I thibk they will adresse the center issue via trade market or free agency to buy time for Hage to develope well.

i would draft Quinn Hutson if he's there with our 5th rd pick, yes 22 years old but he is kicking ass this year in Boston,
I would take the gamble.

Again top 4 is awesome , just like the next couple years.
We got lucky with Demidov we could of end up with Sennecke easy.
If we drop out of the top 4 i am really not sure who we are getting.
If Schmidt was like 5,10 i would pick him at #5

CGY's pick would be awesome to get one of these players

first choice : Ivan Ryabkin
Second : Logan Hensler
Third : Lynden Lakovic

I mean, I wasn't expecting them to invite Michage Hage because Hockey Canada are a bunch of dumb asses, but i'm mildly surprised that they didn't invite even invite Beckett Sennecke or Tij Iginla unless i'm missing something.

They didn't invite them. They also didn't invite Yakemchuk or Parekh. Sens fans will be furious. They thought he was a sure thing. At least Montreal fans knew Hage wasn't getting an invite.

Ryabkin is dropping out of the first round according to many scouts. We might be able to grab him in the 2nd round. It’s a hard pass for lazy players.

Most likely we will get a top 3 pick. Between Martone Schaefer and Misa.

I really like Celeb Desnoyers.

Top 3 is lotto+ last team

I wish but we'd need to be horrendous or extremely lucky to draft top 3

It's not that likely

Nope, so what we want to see is the emergence of the secondary options like Desnoyers.

Early last year no one would have Sennecke in the top 5 or Iginla in the top 10. Two guys who forced their way in. Buium was considered a late first at best.

Excited to see who drives their names higher, Carter Bear is already one.

It's one of those years where Canada could have had 2 or even 3 competitive teams in the tournament pretty easy. They could probably do a full U18 one who could win some games.

My 1st choice is definitely Schaefer and it's not even close for me. But unless we win the lottery, it won't be happening. So other than him, i want the best center available. So it would be :

Hagens
Misa
Frondell
Desnoyers

But i also know Martone is very good and we could use a big winger like him. The question is : Where does he slots in, in the above list of centers.

My first evaluation would probably be after Hagens and Misa, so at 4th spot. And i feel like Frondell and Desnoyers would be great choices in the 5-10 range but not before that. So i guess my tiers as followed :

Tier 1
Schaefer

Tier 2
Misa
Hagens
Martone

Tier 3
Frondell
Desnoyers
Ryabkin
McQueen
Eklund

Tier 4
Spence
Hensler
Carbonneau
Lakovic
Smith
Schmidt
Wozniak

A lot of people will regret their opinions about Hagens. He will be bizarre when he reaches his potential.

Tier 1
Hagens
Schaefer

Tier 2
Misa
Martone

Tier 3
Desnoyers
Frondell
Ryabkin
McQueen
Eklund

Tier 4

Lakovic

Schmidt
Potter

If Shaeffer makes team Canada and perform well ( WJC at the end of this month ) at 17 years old and 3 months.........as a....D....

If that happens.....He will be the first overall...no contest

It's time to start beating the ''Bedard needs a winger/forward'' drum.

Same could be said for Hagens running as USA's first line C with Perreault and Leonard.

On another note, the fact that Perreault fell to the 20s is criminal. Anyone with two working eyes could see he was a top 10 talent.

You are right about Perreault.

However Hagens is already 18...a hell o a player but if Shaeffer is one of the best d of Team Canada with Dickinson at barely 17 it would be amazing.
