The cherry on the sundae would be CGY's pick being in the 11-16 range. Imagine leaving the draft with one of Schaefer/Martone plus a guy like Desnoyers. :naughty:
yep

Schaefer/Martone/Hagens and Desnoyers/Spence. Would be huge.

Ryabkin seems to have a concerning attitude. Overweight (what is reported) and pulls shenanigans to play where he thinks he belongs. I believe those are red flags for our current management

I'm not so sure about Hage playing in the top 6 (yet). If Demidov can be traded to another KHL. I would have loved to see him play at center. His play making skill is insanely high.

Dach-Demidov-Martone combo will be better.
Slaf-demidov-martone
Caufield-suzuki-dach is a sexy lineup too (Laine if he stays drop Dach a bit)

Martone/Misa would be the dream but we'd need to win the lottery for that.

You guys think Schaefer is the best dman drafted top 10 in the past few drafts?

Wouldn't need the lottery for Misa.. just would have to be where we are right now without getting jumped.

Schaefer also could be taken ahead of Misa,

Top 4 should be some order of Hagens/Martone/Schaefer/Misa

Avoiding to get jumped is what I meant. In our current spot, we can fall to 5 meaning we'd miss on all 4 of those guys. We'd need a bottom 2 finish to guarantee them. Still a lot of hockey left and I have a hard time seeing Nashville be this bad all year.

If Habs win the 1st overall, I would hesitate between Hagens and Martone, but Hagens is really really fun to watch.

Hagens and Demidov would be a very dynamic duo.

finish in the bottom 5 will secure our future for a long time. Martone is probably NHL ready for next year.

I can see him playing in our third line next year.

Having Hagens and Caufield in the top 6 could also be bad for us in the playoff. This is probably the only year i would prefer finishing second or third and drafting Martone or Misa.

In my book, he's easily the best draft eligible dman of the 2020s so far (until DuPont comes into play in 2027). But I'm also probably his biggest fan around here...

Him and Martone are my biggest wish for the Habs. I'd be very happy with Misa as well. Hagens is clearly a player with great tools, but he left a bit to be desired in every single one of my viewings so far.

Also, Spence is a must get. Obviously much easier said than done, but KH needs to work his magic to get us another top 10 pick somehow.

He'd have to be up there, his ceiling is about as high as it goes. Super young too, so in a lot of ways he's still only scratching the surface. I like him more than Levshunov and Nemec, at the very least. Jiricek and Reinbacher will need to be healthy to get a true read on, but he has more tools than they do.

I'd love either, but I'd probably lean Hagens and look to supplement our lack of grit with a trade.

Adding Hagens+Demidov would likely mean Suzuki and Caufield are on our 2nd line in a few years time which means our top 6 would be significantly improved.

Regardless, if our lot in life in this season is another bottom 5 finish... that means another high end talent to add to the pipeline, in addition to several other high value picks.

If you add a Martone/Hagens/Misa to this group and we get Calgary's pick.. after that, everything else we have in currency can be used for opportunities like Utah grabbing Sergachev.

At that point we'd have reached a critical mass of high level prospects and total number of available slots to play them.

Agreed on Hagens. Hes underwhelming so far. Then you look at Misa play and man oh man is he more impactful than Hagens. In all facets of the game

We’re only missing Misa and an extra top 4 D (although Engstrom might be the answer sooner than later).

Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
Laine-Dach-Demidov
Roy-Misa-Hage

Is an amazing top 9. Id even look to add an extra top 6 forward with CGYs pick if between 11-16. Eklund would be the dream assuming we can move up to 8-10. Try to get an extra young RHD with the assets yoy get at the TDL (aka Matheson, Savard, Evans)
