you know, I knew GMMG was gonna be a seller at the TDL but holy crap if last season was the godfather of tank seasons, this is the godfather 2
Grier to Zetts on the way out the door:

"You're nothing to me now. You're not a core piece, you're not a trade chip. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you on the ESPN, I don't want you near the Tank. When you come here on roadtrips, I want to know a day in advance, so I won't be there. You understand?

Specifically size of our GM's brain...
I mean, I know you're seeing red right now--and I get it, I like Zetterlund--but we're also talking about a GM who pulled off some wizard shit to get a first and a second round pick for Walman, turned no-value damaged goods like Granlund and Blackwood into first and second round picks, and has done a lot of other good/promising stuff otherwise.

Criticize this deal all you want, but repeatedly getting so nasty toward Grier is a bad look.

Which Cuda kids are having a great year up front? I'd much rather see Kovalenko moved up into Zetterlund's role to see if we have anything there. Giles makes sense to replace Kovalenko on the 4th line.

So all told Grier made 10 trades over the last few months, wow!!!I understand making a path for the youngsters but wow Grier took it to another level, all the best to the Sharks

I'm gonna pretend that Zetterlund got moved for a late 1st and they got two 2nd round picks for taking on Walman. That way I can feel better about things lol...but in all seriousness, this Zetterlund trade is the first big mistake by Grier imo. We'll see how it plays out.
I think there were a few more mistakes like the 2022 picks (not the trade down the picks themselves) and the Burns trade but still I’m in the same boat. Swap Walman and Zetterlund returns and I’m happy.

I’m hoping Grier was right though when he said we are likely done completely selling off at the deadline going forward. These team has a ton of pieces and if given a good defense, I could see them making a big jump next year.
