Read this and it’s hard not to see Brady Martin being very high on the Wings draft list.

This is looking like a poor draft after 15, abd that the 2nd round is closer to an average draft’s 3rd round.

Hearing that guys going in the top 5 projecting as 2nd liners does not give me much confidence.

I remember the scouts quotes on Nolan Patrick when he was ranked #1 and how he was a 2nd liner and it was an indictment on the draft class.

Then you had Makar, Heiskanen, and Petterson become stars. Then some good players on the 10-20 range as well.

Why do we put any stock into this?

i really like the top 4 in this years draft. im not buying projected 2nd liners with any of them

Yzerman been drafting more overages lately and this draft expect even more of them get drafted by Wings.

This is a good speculation topic. What good overagers are out there? I went through my mock draft and checked whom went undrafted.

- Aidan Park, my 4th round pick from last summer. Doing well in USHL, 2nd most points in the league and heading to University of Michigan next season. I'd pick him again this summer, fits in "Draperplan" very well.

- Daniel Shlaine, didn't make my final list but he was in the discussions. 10th in USHL scoring and Minnesota-Duluth is his next address.

- Carson Pilgrim, my 6th round pick from last summer. A bit behind of Mazur's pace but Mazur already had one season played in USHL before he was picked. Heading to North Dakota.

- Lee Parks, double overager like Becher. Parks was nearly my first 7th round pick last summer but i took Shahan instead. Seems like a decent start in UMass-Lowell.

- Kaden Shahan, my 7th round pick from last summer. 6 goals and 6th best goal scorer in the team but also worst +/-. Plays for Univ. of Connecticut.

- Hugo Lejon, i took James Reeder in the 5th round over Lejon. And im actually surprised he wasn't picked, what's wrong with him? High scoring player in the junior leagues and currently 7 goals in 11 games in Allsvenskan.

This is a good speculation topic. What good overagers are out there? I went through my mock draft and checked whom went undrafted.

If we pick in the 18+ range how about the Chinese big kid ??? I dont know much about him and I'll have to look into it more but I seen him as a late 1st rounder possibility

Turns 18 only in the summer and says hes going to boston university with likely hutson,eiserman there

Its suppose to not be a deep draft so I wouldnt be against it unless someone intriguing drops when our turn comes

I do Realguds draft at least once a day. I have a hard time picking someone other than Carbonneau first. Maybe Brady Martin if he’s available. I’m stuck on Carter Amico in the second. My next two picks are Arvid Drott and Mace’o Phillips in either order. After that I don’t know the players well enough

I don't think I would pick anyone currently playing for the NTDP in the top 20. There are probably some interesting options for round 2 and beyond, though.

He’s a polarizing prospect with the “positive” side of that pole being size and skating. Those who have watched him a lot are mostly in the “negative” camp because he exhibits poor skill and low hockey IQ. I have little interest in a prospect when the argument is “big man skate well.” Granted he’s new to the OHL, so maybe he’ll have a wild stretch of improvement, but it’s not looking good so far. I’d definitely rather swing for the fences with a skilled guy than become mesmerized by size and athleticism.

Wallinder has one more year on ELC after this one, Tuo and Viro are not waiver exempt starting next season.

The wings will draft a couple D this draft regardless, keep the cupboard as full as you can, while you can.

A good steady stream of bottom 3 D-Men coming along is a good thing for cost control

I was talking about the d prospect pool we have coming being limited. Pellikka we know will get a shot soon + wallinder

When I look after that I'd say its buium,cleveland and anton Johansson and not much else which is why I said I'd suspect we draft more.

Granted we drafted whipple and a few guys im not too familiar with but wouldnt expect much. Viro I suspect will move on tuomisto might get a shot next season as the 6-8th guy

Not worried about the forward or goaltending prospect pool and I love our future possible top 4 in edvinsson seider pellikka johansson but I'd say yzerman will try to replenish the d pool

I'd try and grab jiri Fischer's kid in saint Louis, 19 and by the time hed be ready would be 3-4 years. Maybe convince them to take wallinder

I hope we sign Stange he's had a really nice season since transferring to Nebraska. Like to see what he brings to a pro game.

Hey thanks ya been looking around and I'm still not sure if no ones player a single nhl game yet

Mazur and tuomisto have yet to debut and they both signed in their 20s but surely they cant both be exempt till 25?

Unless we really fall out of the playoff picture, he’ll be gone before we pick. There’s a growing contingent of folks who think he goes top 10, and at his size, it wouldn’t surprise me.

If we’re interested in size, then Fiddler makes a lot of sense on the back end.

Up front, a guy who is starting to intrigue me is Nesbitt. What little I can find on the guy suggests he’s blossomed offensively this year, particularly in the playmaking department. There could be a lot more to him, especially if he fills out his frame, given he’s not even 185 at 6’4”. I’m really curious to see how he produces in the playoffs.

THN and dobber had him top 10 and it’s been mentioned on the prospects forum. Think some other outlets have him top 10 or at least #10 too.
