Back in 2016 the NHL had the 4 divisions play 3 on 3 mini games in a single day tournament.

I think that’s actually the proposal. The NHL has committed to the Olympics in 2026 and 2030, with a World Cup in 2028. The question is what to do in the off years. It seems to me that a quick tourney with national teams is better than one by division.

I think that risks watering down the legitimate international tournaments. I think you keep the all star game completely separate.

To everyone saying they got it right with the 4 Nations, I don't disagree. However, they can only exclude other nations like Russia and Czechia for for so long IMO.
