go young next year and let the kids build the culture, the vets they've brought in have been a disaster, they can say all the right things but they're also being paid to do that

Are you including Teravainen, Bertuzzi, Foligno, Maroon and Mikheyev in that disaster group?go young next year and let the kids build the culture, the vets they've brought in have been a disaster, ethey can say all the right things but they're also being paid to do that
maybe shop for more cap dump type deals too, the Mikheyev/Dickinson types where there are assets attached and either you bury the player in Rockford if they suck or maybe you luck into a Mikheyev where you restore their valueAnd if you must overpay someone to hit the cap floor find a younger guy who didn’t get the long term deal he wanted and overpay them on a 1 or 2 year deal.
38 year old Marchand or a 35 year old John Taveras on these proposed 3 year deals I see here should not be the answer.
I'm including Perry, Foglino, Hall, Brodie, Martinez, Seth Jones etc...none of these vets have done or did jack shit f*** all nothing to restore a good team game, it wasn't until all the kids were inserted into the lineup that their team game turned the corner, you pay a vet multiples their market value to keep them around the league they're going to say all the right things but it doesn't mean anything, Teravainen, Mikheyev and Bertuzzi are still productive players, Foglino shouldn't even be wearing the CAre you including Teravainen, Bertuzzi, Foligno, Maroon and Mikheyev in that disaster group?
Foligno has been fine. Far from a disaster.I'm including Perry, Foglino, Hall, Brodie, Martinez etc...none of these vets have done jack shit f*** all nothing to restore a good team game, it wasn't until all the kids were inserted into the lineup that their team game turned the corner, you pay a vet multiples their market value to keep them around the league they're going to say all the right things but it doesn't mean anything, Teravainen, Mikheyev and Bertuzzi are still productive players, Foglino shouldn't even be wearing the C
the team has been mostly dysfunctional under his tenure as captain, guy is being paid 4.5m when he's a 2m player, of course he is going to say the right things, why does he deserve to be captain...the kids showed up and the team game took a massive turn, before that point they were a trainwreck with all the vetsFoligno has been fine. Far from a disaster.

Thats not his fault, and regardess of what you have said, it doesn't make his signing a disaster. I bet the young kids love having him around.the team has been mostly dysfunctional under his tenure as captain, guy is being paid 4.5m when he's a 2m player, of course he is going to say the right things, why does he deserve to be captain...the kids showed up and the team game took a massive turn, before that point they were a trainwreck with all the vets
I think his value is going to go up.trade kk before his value diminishes, he still has some mystery box aura to him with his skill level and draft pedigree
While true, he was still good last year, and has performed half decently this year. Again, not a disaster in any sense of the word. He doesn't actively hurt you when he is on the ice, even though he is playing in a role bigger than he should be.Foligno fell off a cliff in the second half. He’s just too old and is going to be even worse next year.

Maybe it’s my bias but I think our top 4 has a much higher ceiling than Nashville’s did. What year is it would most say the Nashville defense peaked?
Their Cup year Ekholm was really only a defensive guy and Josi wasn’t elite offensively yet. Then you had Subban and Ellis who were very good, but not elite either.
Ellis was not a number 1 dman. Ekholm was closer to one than he was.I hate the Preds as much as anyone but that team had 3 number one D man in 2017, and Ekholm was a number 3 caliber
do they?Thats not his fault, and regardess of what you have said, it doesn't make his signing a disaster. I bet the young kids love having him around.
Why wouldn't they? Do you have something that suggests they don't?do they?
He's playing too much. He should be down around 12mins/gp, not the 16 he's getting. I'll have zero worry about him if he's in a 4th line role. Again, its been far from a "disaster"I think for a lot of the second half of this season he’s has been actively hurting the teams and his linemates either his on ice performance.
But as I’ve said elsewhere he’s due enough cash next year we are just stuck with him. Hopefully they can reduce his minutes enough to where he’s not sabotaging younger guys trying to make a name for themselves.
Really not looking forward to a 38 year old Foligno on this roster with a bunch of speedy young guys next year.
you said that you bet they love having him in the room, what would suggest that they doWhy wouldn't they? Do you have something that suggests they don't?
he's the captain, he's expected to set the culture, during his tenure that room has been a shitshow, they injected a ton of kids and immediately the team game takes a turn for the better and Pat Boyle says that the room feels completely different...he has no impact on that roomHe's playing too much.
