Being without Pickering, Kemp, and Harding is a tall task. Any team that is without three of its top six defensemen is going to struggle to advance.
But I've seen absolutely zero tactical adjustments from MacDonald, and the special teams just haven't been good enough all season long considering the talent on the roster.
The PK was 81.3% in the regular season - 15th in the AHL. It's 80% in the playoffs. Not a good look to get worse in the playoffs, especially with the reinforcements that have been provided.
The PP was 17.2% in the regular season - 20th in the AHL. Again, considering the talent, that's not good at all. Yes, there was quite a bit of roster movement. But they're only 17.4% in the playoffs. With all of that talent, how do you not find a way to increase your production in the opportunities you've been given?
