Its probably just jts being overly dramatic as usual. However there’s no doubt some fans have had their ESTA status changed from ‘approved’ to ‘pending’ or ‘denied’. From what I can see there is no indication at all that this is due to social media posts. I think it’s more likely that some folks failed to disclose trouble with law enforcement on their applications. Pulled the quote below from a warning on a government website.

Acting Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Lauren Bis said the tightening of ESTA approvals reflects the Trump administration's enforcement of immigration laws. According to BBC Scotland News, Bis stated that all ESTA applications under the Visa Waiver Program are "continuously vetted against law enforcement and security databases" and that travelers must provide "complete and truthful information, including all criminal history."

reports here in the UK is suggesting that a bunch of Scots have had their visas rejected due to social media posts.
If social media posts have become the arbiter for assessing fitness to attend an event, enter a country etc, I fear we are entering a new era of pandemic like lockdowns.

Good grief.

You should blame governments. People are getting criminal records these days for posting hurty words on social media. I don’t support people of any persuasion who openly post rubbish online. But if the government takes the decision to charge people with a crime (for posting words) then it comes as no surprise those folks might be denied entry to various places based on having a criminal record.

Most of us do blame governments. How's that working for us in a time of Governments being oblivious to such over stepping feedback in the chase to virtue something?

Oh, whoops. Theres my clean record gone. poof! ;)

Air travel is increasingly overrated anyway. Expensive, not enjoyable and the 2026 risk of Airline or Airport employees (baggage handlers) switching tags on your luggage and then being arrested for trafficking narcotics because some douche crooked baggage handler is criminally involved and switched out tags. . Man the race to the bottom in everything sure has arrived.

Just as an aside I'm well aware of how poorly vetted Airport employees are. Less checks and balances on them then the paying passengers.

Really at this point if I can't drive there I'm probably not going. What a shitshow.

Back to the garden.
