Not for 90 million on an 18 year old defender they don’t.

They have money and they’re not broke, but some of that money for Caicedo was spent.
The don’t need 90m to reload for a title run. I’m take the Caicedo leftovers and go from there; they are certainly going to be held for that too

I don’t think Liverpool have the budget right now for that investment. Maybe if it’s installment heavy.

What United will pay for trash isn’t really part of the discussion of rational thinkers
And Chelsea? Rational thinkers too? And City spending twice Doku's value?
Spurs spending 80M on Richarlison?
Pool spending 180M on a goalie and a CB?

Anybody need a left back?

If he ends up with 20 goal contributions this year, it's not a bad deal anymore.

He's averaging 1 goal contribution every 100 minutes which is better than Saka and as good as Son and Watkins.
He's atill a very frustrating player. Shouldn't be starting for us beyond next summer if you ask me.

It's not about quality, it's about risk. If Yoro continues developing as he has, 90m is a totally good price. But he's 18 and has played 28 games in Ligue 1. There is risk!

All of the examples of PL clubs paying overvaluation on transfers of not similar nature. Was Fabio Silva for 45m good business? Was Joao Felix good business? No! Because there are risks inherent to buying 18 year olds, even if they've shown enormous quality!

Yes and Caiceido was bought for 125 as a young risky purchase.
Yoro is much less of a risk IMO.
I called the Caicedo bust because it was obvious. Not Yoro.
And again I'm not saying he'll go for 90. I said he'd go for 60.

Sounds like we will be moving him on quickly. Dortmund apparently interested, as well as some Prem clubs.

Also just read that Dier will be told he can go if he finds a club. West Ham interested but I do not love that...
Thlnk we're stuck with Dier until next summer. Wants to choose his own destination.

Don’t think hes great on the ball. Think he has a mad one in him like Romero; which I kind of like but not sure I’d carry two players like that. Great physical tools though.

Dragusin? I think he's exactly what we need in a rotational system. He's been a bit handcuffed by Genoa's system, so my hope is that he can improve his ball playing ability in our system. He's also not Dier, so he's got that going for him.

Yeah - I think this is fair. You do need to project a bit for different team style. If he can improve more power to him. Don't think he is a sure thing (which is fine) but for what he will cost, thats probably a good risk to take. I might be worried he is a bit three at the back, but I also though Van De Ven was very three at the back so who knows. Van De Ven still bad at what I thought he was bad at, but he is getting bailed out by his physical tools. Maybe it will be the same for Dragusin? Don't think he is a bad signing at all either way.

Just curious what you think Van de Ven needs to improve on?

I mean, of course he is 22ish and can get better, but he is dreadful in the air; especially for someone his height. I think his awareness can get better too, but again, he is fast enough that he can outrun a lot of the mistakes that he makes. Either way, there is still upside to improve at his age though

Not all of these are equivalent.

180 million and they’ve won what because of it? Arguable they could have won more if not for financial funny business by City.

As for some of the others, who knows. Sure there’s ridiculous money. But 90 for an 18 year old kid is a hell of a gamble. I don’t know enough about him to really say; but I think Liverpool are out for that.

Again for the zillionth time I said he'd go for 60 not 90.
Doku cost more and was much more of a gamble. Very much equivalent.
Won what? An EPL and a CL?

Yeah I'd say that's a fair assessment.

Dragusin is only better when they're 3 at the back because he likes to take the ball out for a spin aka Sheffield United in their first season back in the Premier League (O'Donnell it was maybe?) Defensively I'd say he plays the same in both formations. Not Spurs starting level quality for me, but maybe he'll get there. Best defender in the air this year in Serie A so he should probably start against teams who play big center forwards.
