Why can't we have ABS this year in the regular season? Come on, man
Meh. Umping issues aren't as bad as fans make them out to be, the biggest problem is the superimposed box (which doesn't adjust for each hitter) on on our screens combined with camera angles... the same pitch in both SkyDome and Globe Life (Texas) will look like a completely different location because the angles are different. Pitches to the first base side in Toronto will look worse than actually are because of teh angle

Macko had meniscus surgery. Possibly out for the year.
No timeline yet, but reading about other pitchers who recently had a torn meniscus, the timeline seems to be around 6-8 weeks. That wouldn't be too bad.

Hopefully he can come back and put together a solid performance with Buffalo. He could have a chance to come up and contribute either as a depth starter or out of the pen, especially with no established lefty reliever.

Orelvis with big oppo power... nice!

6-8 is when he would be able to start throwing. Would then take 2+ months normally to build from soft toss to pitching.

I don't care what John Schneider said about the team wanting to see Orelvis prove he can handle a position in the field.

If they are willing to start him at DH in a meaningless spring training game (when they should be testing him in the field as much as possible), Orelvis definitely has a chance at making the team out of spring as the DH if he keeps swinging the bat like this.

I didn't realize this thread was open and posted my Orelvis has left the building in the other thread. Oops

Did Macko have the removal or repair surgery? Repair recovery is much much longer. I remember this being a point of discussion for Michael Saunders in 2015. He had his removed, and was dogshit the rest of that year.

So much for this game being on TV... seems like there was some miscommunication between SN and NESN since NESN isn't airing the game per their website.

Although it says it's coming on SN1 programming alert still but teh game has already started.

Jimenez strikes out to start, followed by Barger HBP and an Orelvis walk.

Gameday shows Barger leaving the game, so that's super great.

YRod walked the next guy to load the bases and then they pulled him from the game... could be normal ST shenanigans though so he doesn't throw too many pitches in an inning

Sunday marks an important day for the Red Sox, and you can follow along in a variety of ways thanks to NESN networks.

Garrett Crochet is set to make his spring training debut for Boston in its spring training matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays in Fort Myers, Fla. Crochet was acquired by the Red Sox in a blockbuster trade with the Chicago White Sox in December, and the 24-year-old is poised to be Boston’s ace for the 2025 season.

Crochet’s first outing with the Red Sox can be watched on various platforms, including NESN 360 as well as three over-the-air partners: WHDH, WWAX and WYCI. You also can access the exhibition contest on NESN Nation, NESN’s new FAST channel, which can be found on the following:

Prime Video

The Roku Channel

Plex

The Red Sox-Blue Jays clash has first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
