If I look at the top WAR players this year, I see alot of players we let go (Teoscar - 33 homers this year), players who refused to stay (Semien - 23 homers)(big disappointment he wouldn't stay), players we wouldn't resign (Chapman - 27 homers).

To revitalize Semien, and for him just to leave was tough.

To see the most obvious thing come true: Moreno looks great.


Management needs a full reboot.

I even circled it to make it easier for those who still believe this argument, but i'll spell it out too.

Higher WAR = good

98 OPS+ = essentially right at league average

105 OPS+ slightly above league average

Varsho WAR higher than Moreno WAR = Varsho more valuable.

Even with the combo of Gurriel, who was also part of the deal their total bWAR is only 4.7, still below Varsho.
