Why not give Kirk a day off and let him have a 2 day rest? Although he and Kikuchi are on the same page again.
 
Well that inning was, as Shaq would say "horri-awful." It's like none of them had any clue what Gilbert was going to throw. These guys are major leaguers, right? Game plan. pitching charts, tendencies? FFS.

Lots of dud pitchers every year. The hit rate on anything, but especially pitchers in any given draft is usually abysmal.

Like... imagine an NHL draft where in the 1st round 1 team gets a great player (but not even necessarily from a top 5 pick) a couple of teams get good regular middle 6 forwards of #4-5 D, several more teams get part-time grinders and minor-league shuttle guys and like 2/3rds of the round is absolute busts.

I don't have the numbers in front of me but I swear I saw a tweet in the last few weeks about a particular MLB draft where someone noted that the top career WAR for a first rounder from that draft was some nobody middle reliever.

Selfish Vladdy hitting selfish monster HRs. Doesn't he know it's better to get on base with a double because it puts pressure on the pitcher? Buck told me so the other day.

I don't know what commercial is more annoying: Zack Snyder Presents Zack Snyder's Zack Snyder-iest Movie Ever that could only get on Netflix and is clearly not his "fine, I'll go make my own Star Wars! With Blackjack! And hookers!" move after not getting to make a real Star Wars movie, or Burger King's "extra long cheeseburger" which is a shamefully bald-faced lie because it's not an extra-long burger, it's two individual burgers in an extra long bun.

Good to know. I was outside this morning and didn't get to watch the start of the game. But I was mostly making fun of how Buck said either yesterday or on Monday that he liked guys hitting doubles because doubles put a runner on base and put pressure on the pitcher so that another double can score that runner and with HRs you don't get that. Or it was something like that. It was dumb though because it was basically "I'd rather maybe have a run later on than have one for sure now."

I actually meant to quote the post below yours. I totally understood what you were referring to!
 
I'm actually a tiny bit worried about Garcia's sudden velo spike to start this season. Guys that suddenly find several extra mph, especially getting close to 100, feel like it's often a prelude to their arm exploding and needing TJ. And at Yimi's age that's probably a career death sentence.
