I don’t understand when you’re paying a player millions why you allow them to come into the year in terrible shape.
Kirk looks like the pillsbury dough boy.
5 ft high 5 ft wide

When he signed as a 17 y/o for a $7,500 signing bonus, he weighed north of 200 lbs. He was always big, and yet he showed exceptional skills at every level he’s been at. Paying him millions is a byproduct of his performance. If he was fat and incapable of providing value, he wouldn’t be getting paid.

Solid start to the year for Biggio. And he doesn't look half bad in RF for once.
It’s like they were told to test him in right. He had a lot of action

I love everything about Varsho's game, man, except his hitting. I just wish he could hit .250 this year with a .750 OPS. That would be great.
I hated that they took that hit away. He needed it

He didn’t actually need rest the other day. It was an opportunity to give Vogelbach some PAs against an RHP. Likewise today was a day to get Schneider some PAs against a lefty and for KK to sit. He doesn’t actually need the rest 3 games into the season but situationally management is looking to see where guys fit.
That's fine. I'd be happier about it if it was Horwitz getting in for Turner, rather then Vogelbach. My hope is we're just using Vogelbach as a placeholder until Horwitz (or Votto?) heats up in AAA for a call up.

He probably should be the primary bench guy in the Marwin Gonzalez/Ben Zobrist super-sub role. I'd rather ride Clement's hot bat at 3rd more regularly.
I'm of the opinion we should just play our best 9 hitters everyday regardless of matchups until Babe or Clement prove other wise. That means Schneider in the outfield over KK (even vs righties) and Clement in the infield over IKF.

Likely the case but he seems like a great clubhouse guy. He was chatting the whole game and had guys laughing. I’ve heard he’s just that and if he can maybe keep some guys loose that’s good for sure.

The nine best hitters change depending on those matchups, though.
I don't believe that. Schneider had a .834 ops vs righties last year. So he's shown he can hit righties better then Kiermaier for at least a stretch of games. So I'd just stick Schneider in LF a little more even vs righties. If not all of the time, at least play Schneider 80 % of the time for a stretch and see what you have. Use KK as a defensive sub.

Sample sizes rear their ugly head in this argument. He's proven nothing yet.

But there's only one way to find out. I'd rather find out sooner rather then later.

I'm just not a fan of having two defensive specialists in LF and CF. One is enough. Playing Schneider in LF and Varsho in CF could improve the offence. If it doesn't work, just go back to Kiermaier in CF and Varsho in LF. And I'm not saying play him 7 games a week but 4 or 5 games a week would be ideal.

You really noticed the improved defense with Clement in there over Bichette. Obviously Bichette is an everyday player and his hitting makes him one a team MVP type, but the team needs to come up with a better balance of offence and defense.

has Bo ever really got much time at 2B? He seems better suited for 2nd, Clement at SS and IFK at 3B.

what is his best natural position?
and yeah i would ride him there for the time being.... until his bat dissapears.
I think it might be third……teams will find his weakness, but if his bat doesn’t disappear…..

Clement has essentially hit into 3 double plays in 2 games. Would be nice to save those hits when guys are on base.

Small sample sizes.

He grounded into 0 DP last year and had hit into only 6 in 364 career plate appearances heading into this season. It's just a weird thing that's happened.

Obligatory:

Good luck getting it out of your head now.

It's funny they used Bonifacio as the thumbnail since he had a decent career.

Either way it is my honest opinion than the Jays can't have Varsho, KK and IKF all in the lineup at the same time in the playoffs to start games.

Absolutely agree with this post.
