I think you have to build the top attacking line around Celebrini. He’s head and shoulders above the rest of this forward group.

The Americans are more skilled and the Swedes are better skaters, so Canada will do what they always do and get humble after an early loss and adjust back to system play and steamroll their way to a gold or silver.

They need to mix in the checking line guys with the scorers, because they consistently play with pace, create space for offense, and go to the net. And the 4th line guys should be there because that's how they're playing.

This team doesn't have the raw offense to go all-star game mode and put 3 scorers on every line.

It was what I struggled with because we are struggling to create I wanted to load up the offensive lines to have a chance to create more, but you are probably right we need a little bit of grit/defense on those lines.

We have made a habit of throwing up stinkers in the round robin the last few years. The previous teams dug themselves out of it. Time for this years team to show the same. Lot of players on the team that hopefully use today as a gut check.

End of the day the top guys have to make more of impact. That is Geekie, Poitras and Savoie mostly but if Minten is going to be played 20 minutes a night then have to include him in that group as well. The game isn't the end of the world if they make it not the end of the world.

They were out worked today. Top players are underperforming. Time to redefine roles.

That is the good thing about having this much talent. Guys aren't working out, the 13th forward is more than capable of stepping in a top 6 role.

Hope to see some changes vs germany, who has shown to be a tough out.

It’s mind blowing Minten is getting so much ice time. He’s by far Canadas worst forward IMO. He contributes absolutely nothing and I have no idea what his role is even supposed to be?

Meh, IDK about that.

Celebrini needs to get 20+ minutes.
Rehkopf should be up there as well.

I don't think Canada is great but they certainly arent that bad. The coaching has been awful so far.

This is possibly the worst overall D Canada has brought to the WJC in some time.

#13 had a really challenging game and exhibited some real deficiencies when it came to his ability to process the game. Not sure why he got so much ice time.

#4 is a meh. Also, subpar game IQ and late to anticipate.

The rest of the D , excluding #24 who displayed good game sense was not noteworthy.

The forwards were also subpar in their game in general. I think most are highly skilled but, don't process the game well. Specifically, wasn't impressed with #12, #28, #9 and I expected more from # 15 and #17.

Minten has a spot on this team but there isn't a single person who can argue he should be getting more minutes than Celebrini.
