Yeah but someday this guy will be 23 and not a good leader which really matters now years and years before he inevitably becomes a horrible leader assuming he's still with the Leafs.

I mean it's possible he didn't want to go but even if he wanted to I don't know how much room he had for negociations:

My Guess :

Francis asked Wright if he wanted to go. Wright said, "No, I'd rather spend Christmas with my family". Francis says, "No worries, kid, we have your back". Then Francis told everyone Seattle stopped Wright from going.

I would agree with been there and done that. He's focused on his pro career. Not that hard to comprehend and probably the best thing for him.

Congrats to Minten on being named Captain.

Apologies to the people that have actually contributed to making this a really solid thread. People like @ORRFForever and @jj cale do a great job of providing a lot of insight through this thread each year. It's very appreciated. Unfortunately you have to deal with the handful of broken brains that shit their pants when they saw that a Leafs prospect was named Captain and decided to derail the thread with baseless nonsense.

Hoping for a strong showing from our boys over the next three weeks. Go Canada Go!

It just means people will only find information that backs up what they already believe, staying in an echo chamber Thst reinforces their believes. Not actually search out the full information especially if it challenges their views.

In this case I pointed out the exact game where Minten threw the dirty knee, was given a 5 minute major sbd game misconduct but because he can’t find the video, didn’t happen. LOL

Then the next comes in crying about providing the game it happened also isn’t good enough proof for him.

You seem pretty bent out of shape about who Canada has named Captain. Perhaps you should boycott the series entirely or find another team to cheer for if it bothers you that much. I'm not a leaf fan and I really don't want to defend them but you look really silly with the hate. Merry Christmas.

This team is starting to look more like theyre really going to need to rely on Celebrini to score a lot. Might not be the best recipe for success relying on a 17 year old, but if he can get hot they can beat whoever they run into. I think the Beck Danielson Allard line is going to give good minutes against other teams top lines, freeing up Celebrini where he has a shot to really do some damage.

Have to wonder who gets the start tomorrow, I guess it's Rousseau but yikes, we all know he has not looked good. I get not basing it all on exhibition but man his play was not a pretty sight and it is all we have to go on.

Yeah, I really don't like having to lean on Celebrini like that, the Poitras line really has to step up offensively.

I would assume Rousseau gets Finland and St Hillaire gets the Sweden game. Decide who takes us into the medal round from there.

St-Hilarie squared up well to puck against the states, played on the top of his crease, and made all the saves he should have. He has my confidence going forward. Maybe you know watching Halifax more regularly but Rousseau’s mechanics look all off and he’s very far back in his crease

Mechanics were terrible, as you said, way back in his crease and always a split second behind the puck on the angle it was coming in, even his glove hand looks ........slow to react. By the coaches mouth on the tsn pre tournament show he will be getting the start against Finland though so they seem to think he will put it together but if you are a small goalie and are having all these issues you are going to get wrecked really quickly.

Colour me shocked at the whiners regarding the captain. Hopefully if he and another certain specific teammate succeed you can be happy for the team/country as a whole.
