Agree. Neither Minten nor Beck should be part of the leadership group of any team they play for. They both have a history of dirty hits with intent to injure. Not a good signal for the rest of the team if you name those guys Captains. Good players, we don't need to talk about that. Good Captains? No. There would have been better options.

I’m not out East so can’t comment about Beck.

I mean the NHL has their leadership award named after this guy:


I'm not sure there is a correlation between being a good leader and being some sort of squeaky clean player.

I also wouldn’t have a leadership award named after a scumbag like Messier.

I think it is okay to have different standards for what you want in a player, especially a leader, than the powers to be. Especially when many of those people have shown they are scum themselves.

Would have been enough to just watch his OHL playoff run. That kinda brought out the worst in him. I was cheering for the Petes quite a bit but Beck was horrible to watch. I was sometimes not even sure if he tried to score and win games or just hurt people. Should have been suspended for the Memorial Cup as well for his horrible slew foot. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Unfortunately, suspensions in hockey aren't always handed to the right people. Just take the Beck example. Him being allowed to play the Memorial Cup was one heck of a joke...and I was actually cheering for the Petes.

Unfortunately not. I watch a lot of CHL but I don't do any video stuff. I don't record anything. However, I don't think you even have to watch WHL to know about Minten's reputation.

Not sure if there is a video but having watched it in person take a look at his last game against Lethbridge for a dirty knee and then looking for the smallest guy to fight afterwards to see his “character.”

You dont have to worry about our leadership group or what any of our players reputation is, you are better served dabbling in topics such as the lack of natural centres that can win faceoffs on the Swiss team.

That is where your expertise will come in handy.........and be actually wanted.

I am sure there are I am not a technical person to get them for you I have already pointed out one that if you have the technical know how you can watch.

Again. I don't document anything. I don't record any hockey games I watch and I don't record any conversations I have either. I don't screenshot every article I read etc. If you have any sort of interest in the WHL or the CHL, if you watch the games or even just have a network of people watching then you know about the reputation of lots of players. Unfortunately that doesn't always match suspensions handed out. That's the same in any league. How many times did Mathew Tkachuk get suspended in the NHL? Once? He didn't even get a hearing for most of the stuff he did. He's actively trying to injure players. For years. The dops doesn't care. He kicked at Marincin's leg after the final whistle knowing it was Marincin's first game back from injury. He got nothing for it and there's probably no video either. Yet still everybody knows about Tkachuk's reputation.
