I actually said Wennberg is fine, it was a bit of an overpay and it’s definitely a problem that we can’t win these trades more often, but in a vacuum it’s not the end of the world. You almost had a stroke with the Wennberg trade which made a shit ton of sense. I hope you are taking your blood pressure meds because there will be another trade coming.
I read that the restriction on reacquiring a player on salary retention we previously acquired on salary retention lasted only one year. That would have expired almost a month ago.He did not. Tarasenko wanted to go to Florida and used his NTC as leverage. We could not have reacquired Tarasenko in a deal involving salary retention per the CBA. That was covered by Seravalli the other day.
Most of the stuff we read is pure BS. Fact is we don't know but its extremely rare for a player to not want to play in NYC if given the opportunity. I think the more likely option is Drury wasn't really interested for whatever reason.I can only report on what I read. You were the one who is upset and just assumes Drury didn't do his due diligence. Nobody really knows.
Depth wing and crusty immobile D incoming. They will both be -cRel% players.
The whining will be deafening.
The next Frank Vatrano. EF said Nashville is looking at him. Ofofsson's first game since February 15.
From my understanding it's a year from when the player was active with the team that acquired him. Which for us went into playoff obviously. So it still hasn't been a year.I read that the restriction on reacquiring a player on salary retention we previously acquired on salary retention lasted only one year. That would have expired almost a month ago.
I'm sure Florida was one of Tarasenko's top choices. I haven't seen anyone demonstrate that we weren't another of his top choices.
We had to pay full freight on his contract or we couldn't deal for him. Dumb NHL rules that say you can trade for the same player twice in 12 months with retention. If Florida got 50% retention for a 3rd and 4th, why wouldn't we have been able to?
Drury has a lot of ego and likes to win. I don't see him bending. If we refrain from any big pieces for premium prices, I’ll increase Drury’s grade to an A.
It was not an overpay at all for Wennberg considering the position he plays and the retention. It was a good job by Drury. I have already said Guentzel trade would be a risk and likely costly and I wouldn't do it but it would certainly make this team better.I actually said Wennberg is fine, it was a bit of an overpay and it’s definitely a problem that we can’t win these trades more often, but in a vacuum it’s not the end of the world.
Giving up a first and more for Guentzel will be stupid. Sorry that’s the truth.
Maybe both are true. We simply don't know. Most of the stuff we read is pure BS. Fact is we don't know but its extremely rare for a player to not want to play in NYC if given the opportunity. I think the more likely option is Drury wasn't really interested for whatever reason.
That isn't going to win the cup. The 3rd and 4th line does not have the talent to pick up any meaningful playoff slack. Mika and Kreider HAS to be a threat.Put vesey with Kreider and Mika and just hope that line never gives up any goals. Based on the numbers they already don't. Then hope Tro line keeps clicking and the depth of the Cuylle-Wennberg-Kakko line is too much for teams to match up against.
I actually don’t think it even makes the team better. Too many on here are big name chasers every deadline. It was not an overpay at all for Wennberg considering the position he plays and the retention. It was a good job by Drury. I have already said Guentzel trade would be a risk and likely costly and I wouldn't do it but it would certainly make this team better.
Your 1st line should also be a threat to score.Put vesey with Kreider and Mika and just hope that line never gives up any goals. Based on the numbers they already don't. Then hope Tro line keeps clicking and the depth of the Cuylle-Wennberg-Kakko line is too much for teams to match up against.

agreed, those guys truly played for one another, there was real love there, it's been a shame that K-Z-B never got the chance to showcase themselves to the Hockey world during the 22' runEff it bring back Buch and reunite the KBZ. Seems like the kind of storyline each Cup winner has.
so what's a cup worth to you?Whatever it is, it’s not worth it.
Which move is going to guarantee us the cup?so what's a cup worth to you?
That Hanifin move is one the Rangers should have made. Trade and sign
They did the same thing with Pietrangelo and Stone didn’t they? Or am I not remembering
