...but so does Howden on the 2nd line...Vesey on the first line sounds exactly like something a team that doesn’t win the Cup would do.

A Guentzel or Buch would absolutely make this team better and deeper. I would actually prefer Buch because he is signed through next year. Saving your nickels and dimes also means you miss an opportunity this year and then the core is a year older next year and you never know what happens with injuries and such. Teams like Buffalo and Ottawa have been rebuilding for forever. It's not that simple.I actually don’t think it even makes the team better. Too many on here are big name chasers every deadline.
I like big swings but at least it’s for offseason core youth pieces. Adding 30 year olds for the last six weeks is trying to scam the system to have star power you really can’t afford and it doesn’t work out hardly ever.
Save your nickels for a big purchase that will last like an Eichel instead of a Tarasenko every deadline.
That isn't going to win the cup. The 3rd and 4th line does not have the talent to pick up any meaningful playoff slack. Mika and Kreider HAS to be a threat.
Then Kreider and Mika should play harder/better. They are actively avoiding contact and the hard areas of the ice right now that they used too, as recently as last year, dominate.Your 1st line should also be a threat to score.
any move affects your odds one way or another.Which move is going to guarantee us the cup?
Glad we finally have some people in the know. What's your source?
Thanks for posting this. Anyone who can't see him falling off a cliff without Cindy is delusional.turns out he sort of needs a generational center to produce.... WHY ARE WE DOING THIS!?

from the last 3 seasons...
Geuntzel is typical NYR move that fall flat on it's face imo
They do, but not as drastically as you might think. Simply acquiring the biggest names isn't a recipe for success.any move affects your odds one way or another.
That’s what we were discussing here, but someone checked and it was confirmed that we couldn’t reacquire him until June 30th. Found it:I read that the restriction on reacquiring a player on salary retention we previously acquired on salary retention lasted only one year. That would have expired almost a month ago.
I'm sure Florida was one of Tarasenko's top choices. I haven't seen anyone demonstrate that we weren't another of his top choices.

I am not advocating for a big trade. It would be meaningless unless Mika and Chris figure it out. I don't *have faith* they will. Then Kreider and Mika should play harder/better. They are actively avoiding contact and the hard areas of the ice right now that they used too, as recently as last year, dominate.
Now, they may be saving it for the playoffs. Perhaps they felt they burned themselves out the previous 2 years going all out all the time. However, it is VERY rare that anybody actually does that.
Basically, if your first line needs to be a threat to score, then the 2 all stars already on the line should do it themselves. They shouldn't need another one. Hell, Vesey is a 30 point player and smart as shit. If Kreider and Z were on their game he would be a great compliment. Might even have a career year.
I have no idea about US/Canada taxes, but how much can he really be saving on tax in about 6 weeks?Tara's NMC. He had the call and chose a better team in a state with no income tax. Shocking I know.
so what's a cup worth to you?
It could be as much as 10-15%I have no idea about US/Canada taxes, but how much can he really be saving on tax in about 6 weeks?
See: Patrick KaneThey do, but not as drastically as you might think. Simply acquiring the biggest names isn't a recipe for success.
We didn't have to overpay with assets to get Panarin. Even if he was a FA, I want no part of paying Guentzal. Renting him is the definition of Rangers insanity.People said similar things about Panarin and Kane
If anything crystallized over the past two years, it's that Dubas is an idiot.did all the insiders say Dubas wanted to deal Guentzel tonight. Weird thing to say
I think this is overstated but it is really hilarious that he scored at least once in every game against us in our last playoff series except game six (which Crosby missed)Thanks for posting this. Anyone who can't see him falling off a cliff without Cindy is delusional.
Dubas is a textbook example of an idiot GM that thinks media pressure actually does anything.did all the insiders say Dubas wanted to deal Guentzel tonight. Weird thing to say
I pray Drury is just driving up the price.Guentzel seems like a smokescreen to me. I don't think he ends up here.
I pray Drury is just driving up the price.
This makes no sense to me. Necas is one of their most natural skilled players. I guess they like the grinding typesCanes gonna trade Necas for Guentzel? They never make big moves. Necas for Buch would worry me.
