I feel like it took a week or two for the Stone extension, but I might be misremembering.

They were negotiating while the trade was being completed. They had the framework of a deal that was announced shortly after...I forget what the holdup was, but Stone agreed in principle.

Rangers dropped the ball with Hanifin. The team needs another top dman to play with Fox. Lindgren is a black hole on offense and hasn't been good on defense. Next step is for Drury to overpay him so we can all complain about his salary for years just like Goodrow. Good news though we can all say he is well liked in the locker room while they get eliminated from the playoffs.

The other problem is that outside of Hanifin I wasn’t overly interested in any of the d-men available. It’s a weird year for d-men. A guy like Forsling would be a good addition in the offseason as a UFA

yeah I dunno if the D is gonna get fixed right now. If Chychrun was really available that'd be interesting but again only if you can extend him and ship out Lindgren in the summer

I could understand that if we won multiple cups or even one cup with Lundqvist.
