I don't think Guentzel helps our chances more than using those assets and getting a top4LHD

With chytil on LTIR for the season the fact that they paid for the retention means that they're still going to go do something else significant. It didn't need the retention right now at this rate to make it happen otherwise

Right now, on paper we aren't as good as we were when the season started. We lost both Fil and Wheeler for the year. Wennberg is a downgrade from Fil, but obviously an upgrade to what we have now. I'm expecting that the RW Drury is after is a big upgrade to Wheeler.

Yep. We got a player that plugs a hole at C and bought some money with an eye on further trades. I don't see how anyone can bitch about the price, anything else and Francis would have been ripped off.

Boston has zero to offer Vancouver for Lindholm if Vancouver is chasing Guentzel and they need to dump him.

Drury should move Lindgren to a 3rd team like Arizona who is starving for D in return the Rangers get Lindholm at 50% retained and put him at RW with Kreids and Zibs. Arizona can then help with the cost for whatever they would pay to get Lindgren.

Drury can then make a splash and get Hanifin because we all know Tampa has nothing to offer Calgary. This is as long as Hanifin agrees to sign an extension.

Drury can take advantage of 2 situations where teams want to make deals but are being handcuffed for various reasons.

Wennberg is being so underrated for his play and ability to matchup against better lines for other teams. Mika has been doing that here for years because nobody else really makes sense, this can take a lot of load off of him
