Columbus sucks the life out of everyone.
You got the digits?

But seriously, this deadline was the VGK, FLA, CAR show. With a sprinkling of COL.
Does it move CAR to true contender tier with the rest? Only time will tell.

Rangers remain in the "playoff team" tier going into the dance. As we spoke about ad nauseum, it would have been a miracle of a deadline to chance their standing anyway.

They got two bona fide top 9 forwards who either play center or can play center and a depth D for no prospects and no 1sts.

That's an A+. Forward depth went from absolute garbage to a bigtime strength in the last 4 weeks. Functionally added Rempe, Edstrom, Wennberg, and Roslovic while subtracting Bonino and Pitlick.

Lost midround picks can be replenished at any time if you feel like it. Easy win.

Here's the thing...

My favorite part of these moves? These are complimentary pieces. We didn't try to remake the core headed into the playoffs. We lengthened the lineup and added effective players. This is a much more preferred approach than last year's. It's much closer to what we did 2 years ago. Does it seem underwhelming compared to Guentzel and Hertl, but I think it's far closer to the right approach.

SJS is retaining for six years wtf? Why does everyone want to help Vegas. Surely they could have got a similar package in the offseason w/o retention

Chychrun or Buchnevich is what I would have done.
The reported price was 2 firsts for Buch and possibly more. Is Buch making us a stanley cup winner?

I agree on Chychrun. But he's one player and we have no clue what the cost was. The rumor mill was pretty silent on him. Who knows whether it was real. The other team has to want to trade someone for them to be available.

That said, the team is significantly better for tomorrow's game than they were for Monday's game. Florida and Carolina are threats in the East, but I think we can beat them with this roster.

At the end of the day, the truth has always been we are going to go as far as Igor, Panarin and Mika take us. If they can't get their shit together, no move today was going to lead us to a cup. 2/3 are playing lights out right now and let's hope they maintain it. Let's also hope Mika gets his head out of his ass with a new linemate.

Finals will be hard against whoever makes it in the west, but there's a lot that happens in the playoffs that can change trajectories dramatically.

Because Vegas has the security tapes. We have sounded the alarm about that since the franchise was announced.

I've watched every deadline since I was a little kid and have never seen a trade that hadn't even been talked about come out 30 minutes past the deadline, they would've heard something
Bro. When you were a " little kid", I was 40.

Trades have been announced at 4pm. Brian Burke was talking about this himself this morning on NHL Radio.

Dude can't wait to get outta there. Happy for him.
Would make me feel better if he knew how to spell BABY, but as long as he meshes well (kind of just being there) with our twins, then I'm happy. BTW, I feel like he may be perfectg with that line. He has individual talent to score by himself, not needing horrible passes by Mika or Kreids perfect rimming around the boards. Be positive guys, this may work out.
