These types of deals for top renatls at the TD usually deliver underwhelming returns, let's see...I'm thinking we give up a 1st, conditional second (which can become a 1st), Jones and Sykora to Pitt for Guentzel and we give a third for a third team to pick up 50% of the 50%.

you could trade otter, jones and a 1st and prob get that to be sold. depending how you view otter it is something to consider.

furthermore, do you actually need retention with the cap going up this summer?
Sure. "Asks" prior to the deadline are what they are.

Reality will reveal a different mistress.

Byram has suffered multiple injuries already in his young career. I am not as sold on him having longterm stability as some of you are
that's fair, but hasnt most of his missed time been for mental health reasons and adjustments to the pro lifestyles?

COL trading Byram??

I'd trade Kakko for Byram way before I trade him for any of the other lame players that have been mentioned.

Getting a 22 yr old D would be a "hockey trade". Swap of opportunities.

Boone Jenner would be worth a 1st. There is allegedly some internal bad blood still round there regarding the maniac Babcock thing as well
I need to dig up what I gave as a realistic offer for Jenner in the Around the NHL thread!! I generally try not to be a homer, maybe I went too far. He'd be a slam dunk ad. Plenty of gas left for the contract, which is an absolute steal all things considered, and could flex between playing 1RW or 3C.

Tough as nails, game translates to playoffs. Cmon.

Could you imagine Cullye-Jenner-Kakko/Vesey

he doesnt have to trade him this deadline, he can easily wait and he will still get a high prospect and a 1st (in a better draft in 2025) if he doesnt trade him this deadline. the cost will hurt...

Scott Laughton not at Flyers practice is the first thing I've seen today that has me werried.

That's VERY often an aftereffect of a nasty concussion too though...
for sure, but he has played 55 games this year. there is risk but i dont think it is as acute. his skating would be an incredible add to our blueline of mostly cement feet
