They both have premium stuff, just gotta get them to throw more strikes (still plenty of time for that with them both being 21 and under). They are certainly 2 breakout candidates, but given their command profiles the reason they aren’t as highly regarded nationally is the reliever risk.


We’ll see what the new pitching development machine can do. Also interested in seeing how Dobbins does this season

completely wiffing on trey ball and jay groome definitely didn't help.

have to hope houck/casas/yorke/mayer/teel/anthony/2024 pick are the homegrown group that bolsters the stars the eventually sign like they did during their previous WS wins. just don't see it happening in the near future.

Getting away from Boston and working with new pitching coaches with a different philosophy helped him a little, but let's be honest, it was probably sticky stuff or other pharmaceuticals.

This is why all the front office/coaching hires this offseason could actually be a huge deal. Bailey, Breslow, Boddy. Guys that can not only identify pitching talent, but also have real track records of getting the most out of those arms.

Sox should do something similar with Casas, the price is only going up the longer you wait.

I don't see it. Tom Werner is fully aware what the fans think. Red Sox ownership knows fans want more commitment. Why/how is Theo Epstein going to change their mind when the ballpark is banged out? I don't think Theo is gonna all of a sudden convince them to spend more. He will lend his expertise but he took this gig knowing the spending patterns will remain in place.
 


lol, this team can't outspend even a poverty franchise like the Royals on contract extensions for key players.

God the Red Sox are an embarrassment.
