Embezzling $5M etc I know players didn't make as much money back then BUT I guess he must have blown a lot of his earnings. He will pay for it for the next 6 years behind bars.

Only $66 million in his baseball career. It's no surprise some people turn to crime when they can barely make enough to support a family!

Absolutely.

This doesn’t feel like a fluke. His BABIP will obviously correct a bit and he won’t have an OPS+ of 168 over a full season, but everything about what he’s doing looks sustainable as a plus hitter for the team going forward who could slash .280/.360./420 or something along those lines.

He should be considered a major building block at this point and the long-term solution at 2B until he proves otherwise, and they should be investing in playing him consistently against LHP to a) see if he can do it, and b) allow him to get better at hit. This is a guy blowing up in a big way and doing really good things and when that happens you roll with it and see how far he can go.

Defensively he’s looked like he’s played 2B his whole career and hasn’t made an error yet. No issues there.

I'm not convinced about the vs. LHP thing based on his career so far, but maybe I just have PTSD from letting Adam Lind try to figure it out the entire time he was here.

If we were 10 games above .500 in the thick of a pennant race then yeah I'd get being cautious about it.

But we're 10 games below .500. This is development time now. Time to figure some stuff out. Time to invest on putting young players in situations where they can learn and improve so they can be better in 2025.

How hard would it be to move Vladdy back to 3b during the offseason. His D can't be that bad and if he gets into shape he should be able to do it.

Finding a 1B masher in the offseason is easier than a 3B. How bad can the D be so it couldn't work

They'll draft someone who will get fat because apparently they've incapable of getting players who take their physical fitness seriously

Remember a few years back when that Montreal blogger got reamed by Manoah online over some comments about Alejandro Kirk?

It is pretty funny how things have changed since then, with Kirk regressing even further and Manoah's progress all but cratered - with conditioning being a possible culprit for both players. :help:

Yesterday was kind of an ideal day outside of Richards being the one to blow the save. Kikuchi needed a strong start and we got that in spades yesterday. Picked up a loss which helps us in the standings. The only unfortunate is that those two runs hurt Richards numbers who's another piece likely to be traded. Either way Kikuchi did us all a favour yesterday

I should add that we need jansens bat to heat up and fast.

Also saw that Garcia did not go into his rehab because he has neck stiffness again. That set back is a problem as he's a huge trade chip for us.

This sums it up pretty well. If you evaluate our drafts since the 2017 changes we've been in the bottom third of teams in both MLB contributions and prospect rankings (a rough indicator of prospect trade value).

He's still young but I've been saying since last year, he's a reliever but potentially a very good one. I don't see his arm holding up over 150 innings. Just let him be peak Josh Hader and be happy.

My God this team even makes a routine foul ball fly out look adventurous. Lol.

When’s the last time this FO were really deadline sellers?
2018, with JA Happ?
Hoping history doesn’t repeat itself.
