False sense of optimism from the games being close. He wasn't sitting all year so I don't mind this week last really good team for a while.

Absolute morons to announce this vs surprise everyone when he runs out first drive.

I don't like it. So much pressure on this kid to turn around the season. High risk low reward
I'm not sure there is. I think most realize the team sucks. I think all I'm really looking for is him not shitting his pants like Mac Jones. And can he make some "wow" plays that Brissett can't.

I doubt he can protect himself like the good QBs all can.

Plan should be see if he can beat the Jags and someone else and shut him down around Thanksgiving after 5-6 starts.

They announced it early to get people to stop talking about the Peppers fiasco.

.....and it worked, too.
How much talk has there even really been about Peppers? He's a good but not elite safety on a 1-4 football team.

I feel like it's more about getting asses in seats and making sure people know Maye will be starting to generate buzz, because the attendance for the second home game of the season against a beatable Miami team would concern any owner thinking about what it might look like in November and December.

But resale prices have been $150 get in and up all year despite the bad play. ST wait list still decades long. Empties are people in Pats place or the lot just not rushing in. I'm sure a few wealthy folks eat them but so what.

Even peak Brady era the upper deck was 1/4 empty because those people wanted to stand somewhere else.

Houston in a complete let down spot even with Brisset they could have crapped the bed. Now way less likely they don't want to lose to the kid. Indefensible.

The guy is going to get pummeled, though I'm sure he will give them something of a boost.

It's not worth either the risk of injury, or the beating his confidence will take.

So much for taking it slow. They are what, five games into the season?

Not smart.

Let's ruin another one,

Honestly would have waited on Maye. Go for draft position and bulk up the o-line. No reason to rush, kid is 22. The team is one if the worst in the league with or without him. Guess people just want to see flashiness while they lose 14 games.

So basically you want Maye in there for an entertainment factor? I get why fans would want him in, but the team should be smarter than that.

Not just for entertainment factor. If they are watching film and concluding Brissett is a statue, gun shy and leaving plays on the field then fine let's see how it looks with Maye.

If they are doing it simply because they are 1-4 and under pressure then that is the wrong approach. Greg Bedard said the film showed Brissett stunk against the Dolphins. Not sure if other evaluators have said same thing or not.

Obviously if what is alleged to have happened, happened he's a scumbag and deserves to not play anymore.

THat being said, why is it that Rashee Rice has literal video evidence of a crime he committed and nothing happened to him NFL wise, but SUPPOSEDLY Peppers and atty have video evidence EXONERATING him, but he's put on NFI?

NFL contiues to make no sense with how it decides to discipline people.
