For whatever it's worth, Parise said they lost TWO guys that were popular in the room. Bo's obviously one, but Parise might have had a different relationship with RJ.

I'd lean toward Nate not being happy with him being true, but who knows.

I think we knew RyJo was popular in the room but at some point, that only gets you so far. You have to work on the ice, and it was clear the guy wasn't willing to work.

NTC (8 teams?) and teams are working to resign him. It was basically Vegas and Tampa for a while. Vegas just had to give more than Tampa.
8 team NTC probably doesn't play into it much unless he crossed off all the Canadian cities at the start of the year.

And while I get teams working to resign him, but Vegas essentially paid a rental price.

IIRC Kadri stated if the Flames are going to rebuild he'd prefer to be traded. Or it could have been reported without him saying it.

I don't think he's long for Calgary but with that contract I don't think he has a choice.
Yeah exactly. Tough to see him traded, without Calgary retaining 30%+..

And they won't buy him out.

Hube buyout prove contract I think as well

Doesn’t matter, brother made his bed when he chose to chase the money. Enjoy the basement, Mr. Kadri, no discounts here, we ain’t gonna save you bitch

Go get Dowd and Guentzel for the lols
I think we've had enough evidence in the past that too many trades never get a team a Cup, especially the top target players. Most, if not all teams won by supplementing their core with proper identifiable depth pieces sprinkled throughout the lineup. That's exactly what the Avs did when we won the Cup, we paid hefty prices no doubt, but smart moves that did not break chemistry...simply added to it. Guentzel, though is an amazing player, might be "too much at this point."

It would never be too much to add a 40 goal scorer to this lineup.

Figured he was referring to MacDermid
Maybe he meant MacDermid

Maybe, but the question was about the trades today, and he phrased it like this.

"It's always a sad day. I know it might be entertaining for the fans, and everything, but it's a sad day for the players when you lose a couple guys, guys that were really well liked, big parts of this team so, we understand that's what happens, but it's a tough day sometimes."

I think you missed the main idea of my post, fam, teams got Hossa at the trade deadline and did not win the Cup. We're talking about Marian f***ing Hossa here, Guentzel would be his footstool if we were back in the dark ages.

Vegas and Vancouver aren’t going to find it to be too much, should definitely be looking to add one more solid addition. Guentzel or toffoli would be great

If the Avs don't win the Cup, it won't be because of wingers or lack of wingers. It will be because of headless defenders allowing three Red Wings in the front of the net unguarded or Georgiev letting in weird goals like in the Seattle series. We indeed won with Kuemper in the net, but even I don't recall him allowing some of those deflating momentum goals. Sure, he allowed weak goals more than 70% of the time, but they weren't momentum-breaking goals which is happening more wih Georgiev.

If you want to argue we need a bit extra depth, that's why you go for freakin' Alexander Dmitriyevich Barabanov or Nic Dowd. Remember Avs got Nuke coming back and potentially Kovalenko as well. Go get Guentzel, I am not saying no, all I am saying is that data isn't on our side if we do.
