You're moving the goalposts. Here's what you wrote:

"And Ill entertain this notion that its crazy when I see one single instance of a team taking more than two high picks of the same position in drafts close to each other; just one instance is all I ask"

You were just provided with two instances.

How the team(s) dealt with the picks afterwards is irrelevant to your statement. You stated that teams don't pick more than two high picks of the same position. That's false.
Its not irrelevant because if you go back into the conversation, I literally stated 'if Celebrini was unwilling to play wing, wed not take him' as well as another post on the prior page stating if the centers are willing to play wing, its different

So no, youre incorrect. Ive not at all moved the goalposts.

Edit: the only mistake ive made was using the center position as my example, since it isnt strict to its name as NJDevs26 pointed out just before. Where they actually play matters and these teams know that when they pick them via interviews

If Demidov begins to drop I fully expect a team at the very least to trade up to snag him before he gets all the way to our pick.
I wouldn't be completely opposed to Fitz moving down either way but that isn't really his thing (at least in the first round).

Less arguing on what's suppose to be a happy day for all of us fans. :thumbu:

we should be able to talk about who we want the Devils to draft and keep it civil at the same time.
We’re not talking about who we want. We’re talking about crazy hypotheticals and Crosby, Malkin, and Staal.

If you don’t like it you can leave.

Sennecke reads like a worse version of Catton from what I can see, what are the red flags on him? @Guadana @StevenToddIves
If Catton were 6'3 and Sennecke were 5'10 and everything else was the same, Catton would likely be a slam dunk for the top 5 and Sennecke would not be getting mentioned as a possible top 15 pick.

Sennecke's foremost strengths are his elite puck-handling and passing ability, and Catton gets the edge in both. Sennecke is also a deceptively good shooter, but again Catton is better. Sennecke is an ok skater, but Catton is a good-but-not-great skater and again ahead of Sennecke in this regard. Neither player is particularly strong off the puck, though neither are a liability like an Eiserman.

I don't think there are any "red flags" on Sennecke, who is a very talented offensive hockey player with multiple elite abilities (stick handling, passing vision). But I also think the upside is limited by a lack of breakaway speed, which is valuable for any player but especially crucial for a player of his game-style. I would give him a pass on this if he were more competitive or had a higher IQ off the puck, but he's rather pedestrian in these respects. So to me, he's a player you look at in maybe the 15-25 range, but not the top 10.

A ton of money just came in on Buium. Intriguing.

Luckily picked off some +700 at a slower moving book. Sennecke had a similarly big move a couple days ago. People can't get a read on ANA.
Somebody knows someone who spilled the beans. They will never investigate but hard to see that as anything but insider trading. I'm surprised the bookmaker took that much in one something as obscure as the third pick in the draft.

New GM wants to put his stamp on the team I guess?

perhaps you didn't see it but it was me responding to the 3C joke you do with a joke of my own.

Praying for Buium.

Otherwise would be happy with Solberg, Eiserman, or Iginla.

Would honestly be happy with MBN at this point too. Wasn’t initially super high on his ceiling but there’s some nice skill there, you gotta love how he plays, and I just want all the draft nuts on here to be happy.
I mean, that shot. Nygard can absolutely howitzer the puck. People are talking about him like some grinder. We drafted Holtz literally just because of the shot and Nygard blows Holtz away at the same age in literally every other respect.

Fitz really needs to get on the board here and start listening to you and @Guadana and @evnted. Hopefully Fitz learned something from the Holtz and Stillman selections.

The dude literally never calls me. You'd think Tom Fitzgerald would value my opinion more, especially considering how much he openly values toughness. I've physically thrown guys who have 100 pounds on me out of bars. That alone should get me a mail-room position.

Question for our draft guys: is there anyone you would be mad at us for drafting? Like, an outright horrendous pick (assuming we stay at 10)?

The one I see around a lot is Cole Eiserman. Anyone else?
not talking to me but I'd be a bit mad if we drafted Sennecke or Parehk.

Sennecke is just not good enough to be picked 10th and Parehk is totally not needed on the Devils.

Oh and Connelly because I don't want our team to deal with someone like him.

Their owner has previously decreed that they would never use a first rounder on a D, so that might narrow down their intended target.

I mixed up Michael Hage as Zayne Parekh after the awards show yesterday. Thankfully I only said a generic "good luck tomorrow" instead of "congrats on the Memorial Cup.". I didn't recognize him at the time, but I believe Artyom Levshunov was there too.

Hughes brothers had a security escort out, so no autograph opp there. I shared an escalator ride with Joe Sakic, overheard him saying that it was fair that hockey players get made fun for being so stiff.

I'm disappointed about the Hughes brothers. Sign and autograph, take a picture, McDavid does it and they can too.

I'm just hoping that maybe they had somewhere to get to that was scheduled.

Are we talking red flags and “do not drafts” for the family? :sarcasm:
The Hughes family owns the Devils now because they drafted two of them. Fitz is not the GM its just the Hughes family calling the shots! I warned everyone about this but nobody listened to me. Now the Devils have to suffer for years while having primadonna's on the ice.

Some Devils fan that only talks on the main board-

Here's my tier list:

Holy F**k! We won the lotto!
W Ivan Demidov
C Cayden Lindstrom
LD Zeev Buium

Absolutely Great, Great, Great
LD Sam Dickinson
LD Anton Silayev
LD Stian Solberg
RW/C Michael Brandsegg-Nygard
C/RW Konsta Helenius

Maybe not the "right" pick but likely a great player
LW/C Berkly Catton
RD Carter Yakemchuk
RD Artyom Levshunov
RD Zayne Parekh

Great Pick but maybe should've traded down first
C Michael Hage
W Igor Chernyshov
C Cole Beaudoin

Well, there's maybe a 1 in 100 chance we won't regret this, at least
LW Cole Eiserman
RW Beckett Sennecke
