Then and there
Feels like a Turkey home game..

It's not a surprise of course, but I saw one the Turkish players mentioned in a pre-match interview that in their previous matches 80% of the spectators had been Turkey supporters.

That's quite an achievement that they've been able to purchase such a percentage of match tickets.

Austria now in the position where their lack of forward talent kinda hurts them. You can't rely on Sabitzer and Laimer doing all your scoring...
You have made a laimer screamer an inevitability now

Teams were blazing right out of the gate. Ceferin reportedly told both coaches to tone down the fun though.

Sabitzer, cornrows? Really?

Braids were a typical hairstyle in central Europe at least since the 1st millenia, so it's a long tradition. Although there are Greek statues from way earlier times, so likely typical hair already when first humans arrived to Europe from Africa.

This regent outrage is just another stupid issue spreading from USA to elsewhere.

Turkey has continued to hold on to their lead surprisingly well, and head into half-time still leading.

Greece vs Turkey is.

Only if we count the Byzantines as greeks rather than Romans ;-)
@cgf
How can you call Austria exciting?
The only excitement they show is trying to injure.

They came out of the gates with great energy...though they have bogged down since...and they were a lot of fun to watch against Poland & the Netherlands.

Before this match, Austria had done most fouls in the tournament.

They do press very aggressively

Any better options up front than Arnautovic?

Eh, Gregoritsch or false-9 Baumgartner with Wimmer or Prass coming on.

Turkey's games have been by far the most interesting for a variety of reasons. Like it's nice to see both teams try to attack.
