If the scenario happens where the Ducks drop 2 spots from #3 and end up at #5 overall and all of Lev/Dicky/Lindstrom are gone do you go Silayev, Demidov or Helenius ? Perhaps trade down for Yakemechuk and and gain a late 1st to use on Hemming. Not interested in smallish Dmen in Buium and Parekh as they already got Zellweger and they just traded a injury prone Drysdale.
Ducks bad luck is only dropping 1 spot and they won't want Chicago dropping 2 spots, Buffalo/Montreal moves up to 1 and Chicago stays 2 so they can win again in a better draft :D

But Silayev has been compared to Hedman right? At 5, I think he'd be worth the risk IF the scouting staff feels he's that level of prospect. I know Verbeek doesn't like guys playing on their off side, but if you're running 3 pairs with similar minutes (3rd playing a little less than top 2), you can run some combo of:
Minty-Hinds/LaCombe
Silayev-Luneau
Zellweger-Hinds/LaCombe

If the project players end up being comparable to the LHD playing on their off side, you can move them for picks to free up cap space. With how Ducks develop D, at least one of Warren, Moore, Helleson will probably be an NHL D (question is can they be more than a 6/7 on a good team).

Watching as much as I can of the draft eligible d-men. Still have a lot of season left to go but I really think Buium is the smartest d-man prospect by a landslide... He's going to play a ton of minutes all situations.

Denver lists him at 6' 2"... hes probably more like 6' but I think he'll be 6' 2".

The more I watch, the more I'm convinced on Dickinson. He solidifies the defense for the next decade and is a sure thing to be a top pair IMO

The rest of them I see some bust potential in

Seems like such a high floor pick, not devoid of upside by any means, but seems the least likely to bust completely other than Celebrini. It would be a shock if he isn't at least a solid minute mucher some day.

It does when your owner owns Comcast.. ITs time to make some shit happen.. Samulies need to get busy
As always, not sure if you are memeing or serious. If you are serious you need to either do some research on the process or go touch grass.

The process is super transparent and multiple team representatives and media personnel are present the whole time. The process is also audited by Earnst and Young, an accounting firm that did 50 billion in revenue last year, about 10 times more then the whole NHL.

So ya, if you think it's rigged then I just lose pretty much all respect for your opinion.
If youre memeing then, cool.

Still. Money talks.. Thats why i knew Bedard was not coming to the ducks.. If you think otherwise.. And you need a reality check.. I dont care what article you throw at me.. Coming from a business standpoint.. Money talks.

You dont care what evidence I show you to prove how asinine your belief is? Do you still believe in Santa too despite the evidence?

Ya all respect gone, sorry. Out of all the stuff to think are biased like refs calling stuff to favor big markets, or the situation room, or suspensions, the draft lottery is the 1 thing that is 100% unbias. Literally 100% up to chance with zero human interaction.

You better shut your mouth, or else.

Too bad the owner does not own Comcast…

Edit: good for Drysdale though, him and Celebrini could be a force in the league.

My feelings are impervious to your facts.

Good on the Samuelis for moving on from Broadcom to Comcast, though. Major step up the billionaire ladder.

This would only make sense if the lottery was in fact rigged but since it aint rigged it just sounds like something that weird guy who sits at the barcounter every single day at your local pub would tell you.

I’d be happy with Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov, or Zeev Buium.
Demidov is so intriguing to me.

A lot of risk (both in his play and the KHL factor) but probably the highest upside at forward outside of Celebrini.

I just can't see the Ducks taking that risk over the defensemen or over a guy like Helenius.

Silayev if he grows into his comparable is everything we need and more
A RH version would be better....

Saliyev still worries me…. I also don’t know that we should be getting a LHD with what we already have…. Def prefer to look for top 6 forward or RHD…. I do like some of the RHD in late 1st early 2nd.

Big dmen always seem so hard to predict.

There are actually a lot of big RHD in this draft in the 2nd round range.

Emery
Elick
Jecho

Add in Pulkkinen and Skahan on the left side. Verbeek's wet dream.

This is one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft beyond the obvious high picks. 6'7 210 right shot center with legitimate playmaking vision and skill. Finishes some absolutely glass shaking checks and competes on both sides of the puck. Like any other player of that stature, it's the feet that will determine his ceiling. He honestly looks like a strong skater at his current level, but that's Canadian prep hockey which is miles below the caliber that most draft eligible prospects are seeing (he did jump into a pair of USHL games as an affiliate player).

Bob McK had him up to #32 on his latest list, but could be one of those guys that someone falls in love with as a complete home run swing. It's not hard to get excited about him, you just don't see prospects who have that kind of size but also IQ, spatial sense and offensive touch well beyond their current level. He could end up around 6'8 240lbs, that's a Chara sized right handed center man.

While looking up on Emery, I got some info on Skahan. Skahan has the higher upside (potential), but he can't figure it out yet (or will he ever). Emery has the lower upside, but what he does do well he does very well - which is be a shutdown D.

Tankathon has RD Elick going 43rd, RD Emery projected at 46th, and LD Skahan at 52nd. Adam Jecho is RW, projected to go 42nd.

Someone is going to try to be the smartest person in the room and take him like top 20. Calling it now. I dont think I would use a 1st on a pick that risky.
