Watched about half of the Knights vs Sting preseason game yesterday.
Sam Dickinson was a stand out for me, very big guy who played the game pretty well at both ends of the ice. Didn't seem too physical but he was pretty good at clearing the crease out. I know he's highly rated this draft but I haven't seen anything that separates him from a guy like Jiricek or Kiviharju to me at least so far.
Another guy I took notice of was Boulton who seemed like your prototypical small but fast and skilled guy, he buzzed around a lot and had quite a few takeaways by pickpocketing someone or getting into passing lanes. Had quite a few looks but didn't convert anything. He isn't currently rated but he's a rookie just coming into the league this year so we'll see how he looks.
For the sting I mostly noticed two guys, 15yo Ryan Brown who has 2 goals in 2 preseason games for the Sting and is a pretty small skill guy, I'd say he seems to be in the right place at the right time a lot took advantage of that. He created a lot of chances anyways, much like how Boulton played. Not super relevant for this thread but I wouldn't be surprised if he rockets up the charts for his draft class eventually.
Other guy was Lukas Fischer, who's a massive 6'4 defenseman, interestingly enough chose to come to the OHL instead of the NTDP and has dual Czech/US heritage. He definitely seems capable of being a steady stay at home d-man and landed a few pretty solid hits during the game and wasn't afraid to mix it up. He's gotten a few secondary assists during the preseason game but I haven't been able to view much about his offense.
The game was mostly taken over by the older guys (Julien, Cowan, Barkey, Gazisov, Leonard, the Leblancs) but there were a few stand out plays by the young guys for both sides that contributed. Especially Boulton, who could have probably had 3 if he converted.
