Interesting to look back at McKenzie's list from a year ago where he had But (25), Hrabal (32), Simashev (35), Nordh (61) and Castagna, Ludtke, and Moroz weren't ranked.
Not how you start. It’s how u finish. Lists are gonna fluctuate. Nobody saw russians in person so everyone was cautious in their rankings.

But was also ranked #9 by NHL Central Scouting and #15 by McKeen's ranking. He was all over the place and nobody scouted these kids.
I wonder if Russian scouting has changed at all this year. Probably not.

9 on Central Scouting's international player ranking. I don't Central Scouting does a consolidated list. do they?

Yes, international. NHL Central Scouting did not release a combined "consolidated" prospect list for 2023 in the traditional sense. Instead, they offered separate rankings for North American skaters and International skaters, both for the mid-season and final rankings.

Getting a little excited that Berkly Catton might be there at 10 when we draft...there will be a few players I'm gonna really like, but seems that he might actually make it to 10...and we can't have too many C's.

Tankathon has him at 8, Wheeler at 9, Sportsnet in November had him at 4 and Dobber at 7. Probably going to need to lose a bit more in the 2nd half to get him. I would be glad for the Spokane element, Chiefs are where I cut my teeth watching live hockey.

Yes, but there are risers and many are on the D side which should move several of the forwards back a bit. I'm expecting Catton to be drafted at #9/#10...going w/Bob's Mid-season rankings

1 - Celebrini
2 - Silayev
3 - Levshunov
4 - Eiserman
5 - Lindstrom
6 - Demidov
7 - Dickinson
8 - Helenius
9 - Parekh
10 - Catton

They need to draft a bunch of RHD. I think of the 10 D that BA has drafted in the past 3 drafts - 9 are LHD and 1 is RHD (Lamoreaux). That's an imbalance in the prospect pool that needs to be addressed.

The good news is that when you look at Bob's list and then look at where our 1st and 3x 2nds are at, there's a bunch of really interesting 6'2"+ RHD in those ranges.

He has legitimate potential to he a 1C.

Am I the only idiot who has Levshunov ranked 1?? lol
I like him but there are about 5-6 D that are all really good and deserving to be in top 10 consideration. Cellebrini is a clear #1 at this point.

Yeah, EJ Emery & Charlie Elick just to name a few.
I’ve watched a few games of Emery against USHL teams. He’s impressive. But I just don’t know about 0 goals. That’s tough to find comps for. I look at solid NHL blueliners and I can’t come up with any that had totally non existent offensive contribution in juniors. He’s got two goals in 96 NTDP games. I know he’s not supposed to be an offensive defenseman. But even shut down NHL D usually had some level of production at lower levels.

Elick I like the size, skating and snarl. He’s a mean player. He likes to hit. He’s really a good defender. But man, he’s just so bad with the puck on his stick. I can’t remember ever watching such a highly touted and toolsy prospect who’s so bad with the puck. There’s so much to like about his game. But I just don’t know if I can get over him handling the puck like a hand grenade. I watched him a few times early this season and a couple of times lately. It hasn’t got better

At 42nd ish overall, I’d be pumped to pick either. Which is all you were saying. And I probably have both ranked earlier than that.

Players of this profile often fall a little. Look at Savoie two years ago and then Benson last year.

I see EJ Emery as a way better version of Ty Emberson...someone who will be a good 3rd line player who is extremely defensive...like a taller Dylan DeMelo.

Interesting. I’ve always had the opposite view of Murphy.
apparently you are correct if we review the "advanced" stats and use that as the baseline. Connor gives up fewer "dangerous" chances relative to the norm, so he would be considered better than average Defensive dman.
