f***ing spot on.

I want Demidov, he is my first choice but he is overrated. Like Michkov last year, generational talent don't slip to 7. They are lock at 1 the 5/10 years they happen to be available.

People just approach a speculative things like the draft with pre-conceived notion.
Generational talents don't fall to 7 ? I guess Jagr didn't fall to seven. I guess Price didn't fall to 7. I guess Makar didn't fall to 7. I guess Draisaitl didn't fall to 7.

I'm not sure anyone called Michkov a generational talent but Im not sure "generational talent" is what we need to upgrade on our forward crop.

I think we have a rabid fanbase (and I don't mean that in a bad way necessarily) and other fans/media take advantage of that to raise our hysteria.

Like the Michkov thing is another perfect example...never mind that 3 teams passed on him, they were justified NOT drafting the generational talent, same with the Coyotes, it's just the Habs that missed out on the generation's next big thing.

We're seeing that play out right now, and I ain't having it. Miss me with that.

I was so ashamed of being a Habs fan last year after the backlash Reinbacher got, I might to hide my allegiance this year if it happens again lol.
We rightfully have a rabid fanbase , we've been fed absolute garbage hockey for a quarter century. Literally some of the worst offensive hockey in the entire league up there with Arizona and Minnesota

The organization deserves zero benefit of the doubt , sorry but we are still a mickey mouse organization until proven otherwise , Or at least until they can ice a top 10 on ice product in the league something I've never seen in my lifetime.

Fanbase has the right to be rabid its the only major league sport in town and its been run by complete idiots

The fact you are ashamed of being a habs fan because of the fans more than because of the actual on ice product and how the organization has been run is insane to me .

Sure the fans can be dumb but when the people in charge are just as dumb or worst for the entire 21st century why are we even talking about the fans

My biggest fear is Demidov drops and we repeat the same mistake as last year with Michkov/Reinbacher.

If we can't have Demidov I wouldn't mind Lindstrom though, and that's who I think we'll take if both are available.

With a healthy Dach, no way they pick top 5. I see this draft as a bonus high pick for the rebuild. I trust the scouting department but hoping for a forward.

I was all in with Lindstrom for a long time, but the back issues are a bit concerning. If they draft him, they I'll take that as a good sign and will be very happy. If Demidov falls that would be amazing too. I'm cool with Iginla, Sennecke, or Catton (in that order) even at 5 because, again, I see this pick as a bonus pick.

Drafting a dmen wouldn't be the end of the world but would be somewhat disappointing in the moment.

I keep going back to Gorton’s comment yesterday “Michkov & Demidov are totally different players”…. that’s code for “we didn’t like Michkov’s overall game”

Buium has move from +2000 to +500 during the night
And now just move from +500 to +400 in the last hour for 3rd overall

Edit: scratch that now he moved to +370

Caroline trading necas at clb for the 4th would be the perfect scenario as they would target a D. So Lindstrom would be avalaible to us.
The owner said a couple years ago when he purchased the team that Carolina will never select a defenseman again in the 1st under his watch.

As long as we're posting draft lists, may as well post my draft day top 75. Oddly identical to @Mrb1p for the top 5 then changes pretty drastically.

Who said you have no right to be a rabid fanbase, that's exactly how I described our fanbase and I include myself in that because of how much I seek Habs news or religiously watch Habs games.

That's what makes us the best fanbase, but at the same time, that enthusiasm manifests itself in ugly, ugly ways.
The fact you are ashamed of being a habs fan because of the fans more than because of the actual on ice product and how the organization has been run is insane to me .
I said i was ashamed being a Habs fans because of how certain factions of our fanbase treated David Reinbacher after he was drafted. Which was disgusting and I have a feeling should the Habs pass on Demidov and draft say a Buium or another player, that it's going to be even worse for them and I find that absolutely disgusting.

I don't have shame for how this organization has been run, I live in Ottawa and when I think of a shit organization I look no further than the Ottawa Senators. I don't live in the Habs bubble I guess.

Meh.
Sure the fans can be dumb but when the people in charge are just as dumb or worst for the entire 21st century why are we even talking about the fans
I don't think the people in charge are dumb. I also understand that it's a 32 team league and only 1 team can win. I'm old enough to have witnessed some Cups though, maybe that's why i'm not as cynical as you are I guess.
